Towards Living My Best Life

Hello lovelies!

It has been quite awhile since I actually posted on my blog. A lot has happened and I don't think I've ever been away from my blog for this long. My last post was up during Thanksgiving of 2017 and it's now currently almost the end of March 2018!

Oh how time flies by! But life happened to me and I had a lot of changes over the past few months. I was trying to figure out where I wanted to go through with my life and as June 2018 fast approaches, I will also be on my 28th year and I came to realize that I am not actually going through the path that I wanted for myself.

As some of you may know, I am a BS Nursing graduate and I was educated in the Philippines. I graduated back in 2011 and I came to the US right after. For years, I have been trying to pass my Nursing Boards in the US and I have failed. Several times actually. That put me in a rut for months at a time. And I've always pulled myself out of there through blogging and being active in social media. Nursing is just not for me. My heart and mind has never been fully with it. And after years of being scared of trying to pursue what I actually wanted to do for myself and for my future, against my family's advices, I've finally gotten the courage to go for my dreams.

I knew I always wanted to do more in the beauty industry. I also knew that I wanted to learn more about business management and marketing. In fact, Business Management and Marketing was my first choice for a degree in college but having such a strong family background in Nursing, I was slightly forced into taking the latter instead.

So what have I been up to, you might ask? The last month I've been trying to explore more of my interests and hobbies while looking for a new job in the field that I want, which is in the beauty department. It is extremely tough since I barely have any experience except for blogging through here and previously with bntNews International. Thankfully, my sole family at Nation of Soles have been very supportive and I am continuing my growth with them. I probably haven't mentioned Nation of Soles in a blog post since I rarely post none beauty related stuff in this blog. I was gonna continue doing FTLOS (For the Love of Sneakers) page on this blog but it suddenly got hectic for me so I never got around to doing it.

So Nation of Soles is a start up sneaker company which hold weekly sneaker giveaway and at the same time, we try to give back to our sneaker community by collaborating with other organizations to give away a pair of sneakers to those who need it. I am a sneaker blogger for Nation of Soles and I mainly do interviews and write feature articles for our site's blog page. I also host our weekly sneaker giveaway live on Instagram.

Anyway, aside from NoS, I have been actively collaborating with other blogger friends and photographers. I definitely am not a model but I love taking nice photos for the gram. My content on Instagram has definitely upped it's game from a year back (or from the first time I actually started IG) and I want to keep it going.

Also, I went home to the Philippines twice over the last 6 months. First, was on September of 2017 when my grandma's health took a turn for the worse. I grew up with my grandma and everything I knew about life was through her. In January of this year, she passed away and I had to go home again. It was a very painful time for me and even just thinking about it now is bringing tears to my eyes. I was very hurt by her passing away. But at the same time I was thankful that she passed away in her sleep and didn't have to go through so much pain. I miss her dearly. It's been two months since then but wounds don't heal too easily.

Although I might have continued living my life, it made me think even more about the future. I totally am not living my best life right now. I am envious of those who have more than what I have. But there's no use being jealous of others if I'm not doing anything to change my circumstances, right? So I'm taking everything that has happened in my life as a lesson and moving forward towards achieving my short term and long term goals so that one day, I'd find myself living my best life.

Anyway, new blog post next week. I honestly have so many beauty products to review and I haven't gotten a chance to. I have a couple drafted here but they never went up because I lacked the inspiration to finish them. But now that I am finally coming to terms in what I really want to do, I want to keep this blog alive. This blog has been a journey for me. Although over the years it has remained a beauty blog, I also want to keep this more personal than most blogs.

I may not be updating three times a week as I used to, but I hope to deliver content at least once a week or every other week. No promises but I'm here to stay. You guys can always find me on Instagram where I usually post more photos and give life updates through my stories.

Thank you so much for sticking with me.

I love you.
