The beauty product on the chopping board today is the Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask. This trendy skin care product has been popular for the past year. I don't really like trying out trendy and gimmicky products since they usually end up as a disappointment and they don't give any bang for your buck. When BB Cosmetic gave me this opportunity and I saw this product on the item list, I thought it would be high time to try this out and see if it is really a great product or just a hyped up item.

The Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask is a clay mask that bubbles up when applied to the face and comes in contact with air. It cleanses and exfoliates the pores of dirt and sebum while at the same time, replenishes the skin with nutrients resulting to softer, smoother, healthy and youthful skin.

This mask is said to be suitable for all skin types especially for those who have oily skin since it claims to control sebum production. Those with sensitive skin should do a patch test first before applying this mask all over the face. I personally suggest doing a patch test with an new skin care product so that it won't break out you whole face if you have hypersensitivity to any of it's ingredients.

Ingredients for this bubble clay mask includes water, cocamidopropyl betaine, kaolin, acrylates copolymer, disodium cocoamphodiacetate, methyl perfluoroisobutyl ether, sodium laureth sulfate, lauramide DEA, TEA-cocoyl glutamate, camellia sinensis leaf extract, glycerin, dipropylene glycol, bentonite, collagen, charcoal powder, phenoxyethanol, methyparaben, fragrance, xanthan gum, disodium EDTA, allantoin, butylene glycol, lavandula angustifolia extract, monarda didyma leaf extract, mentha piperita lead extract, freesia refracta extract, chamomilla recutita flower extract, rosmarinus officinalis leaf extract, carbonated water.

The packaging of this mask is adorable, a pig with a pink scarf and a clay mask on it's face. There is an authenticity seal on the side of the box which you can scratch off to reveal and a number where you can call to check your product. I think a website would be more convenient rather than having to make a call.

The inside of the box is stamped with Elizavecca's logo of a flashy rabbit with sunglasses on. The actual jar is made out of plastic, and the lid comes off revealing another lid that protects the clay mask from air and also houses the spatula. The spatula is wide and flat which is great in scooping out just the right amount of product while also being effective in application.

The clay mask is soft and bouncy, slightly slimy and pudding-like in texture. It is unlike other clay masks I've ever tried before. It has a clean scent although I've read in other people's review that it smells "chemically" but I didn't smell any of that.

To use this Bubble Clay Mask, take a chestnut size amount with the spatula and apply this on your face using the spatula or with clean, dry hands. Avoid the eye area, mouth and nostrils. Wait 5 minutes for the mask to finish bubbling up, add water, massage face for 1-2 minutes and rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry.

This mask is also advertised as a multi-use mask. You can use it as a one-step makeup remover and cleanser. It can also be used either as a first step or the last step in your cleansing routine. You can do it first followed by a lighter facial wash or you can do your daily cleansing routine first and then follow up by using the Bubble Clay Mask for a deep pore cleanse.

I applied the clay mask as directed, and less than a minute onto my application the mask already started bubbling up. I can feel slightly tingling and tickling sensation when it was bubbling and you can hear a faint bubbling noise too. After 5 minutes and the mask has completely finished bubbling up, I look like I gained 5 pounds. ^^ I wet my hands with water and massaged my face and it felt like a massage cream. It was creamy and very satisfying. I added a lit bit more water and it turned into a foam! I finally rinsed my face and patted it dry.

My skin felt really clean without the "stripping" feeling that you usually get with a deep cleanser. My face felt soft and smooth as well. Although this product doesn't claim to minimize pores, it does say it will tighten the pores up to prevent it from being clogged up with dirt and I didn't see any difference with my pores. It also claimed to help control oils but that was not true at all in my case. My skin has been combination-oily as of late and I didn't see any decrease in sebum production after using this.

Honestly, I have mixed feelings about this product. I am not totally in love with it nor do I hate it. I'm really not mad about this product but I still do think that is very gimmicky. It is a fun experience watching the clay bubble up on your face and it is actually a good way to scare your friends and family, however, I can name a number of cleansers that can do exactly the same thing as this bubble clay mask can with even better results when it comes to cleansing, pore tightening and minimizing and oil control. On a positive note, I actually enjoyed the feeling of "using" 4 products at the same time since it went from a clay mask, to a foam, and then to a creamy massage cream and then to a foam cleanser.

I rate the Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask a 3.5 out 5. It is a good product but it is extremely hyped up. If you want a skin care product that you want to enjoy using then this is the way to go because I actually had a fun time trying this out. If you want a product for specific issues other than deep pore cleansing, then I think you can definitely find other alternatives than this.

This Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask retails for $11.90 (on sale at BB Cosmetic for $11.10) and one jar contains 100g of product. I think this is decently priced and it is worth a try. Remember, BB Cosmetic ships free worldwide and you can use the code RY495UM2C0CR for an additional 8% off. Also, BB Cosmetic is having a lot of sales going on so definitely check out BB Cosmetic for more Asian beauty products!
