I'm very happy for this opportunity to review one of the hottest beauty item that seems to be the talk of the Asian beauty community as of late, the Chateau Labiotte Wine Lip Tint.
Laboratories of Nature
"Labiotte" is a botanical based brand that makes there products from natural ingredients. It's the brand's philosophy that acquiring and using pure and clean natural active ingredients is highly related to healthy skin.
Chateau Labiotte Wine Lip Tint
"With the appeals of intensity and well-aged wine, this long finish lip tint dyes and moisturizes your lips at the same time."
This unique lip tint is packaged as a miniature wine bottle. It is handy and cute, definitely a conversation starter once you pull this out of your purse. Some may think that you are actually drinking a small shot of wine from this adorably packaged lip tint. They are not wrong in some level since the Labiotte Wine Lip Tint contains extract from a French premium wine. Extracts from wine gives a stronger and longer lasting moisturized lip color as compared to water based lip tints which dries out the lips easily and reveals dry, cracked lips with dead skin cells. The wine lip tint promises a "moist, shiny gloss with a deep wine color."
The Chateau Labiotte Wine Lip Tint comes in six lovely shades, RD01 Shiraz Red, RD02 Nebbiolo Red, RD03 Merlot Burgundy, OR01 Chardonnay Orange, CR01 Rose Coral, PK01 Blush Pink.
The neck of the wine bottle twists off to reveal the slanted doe foot applicator.
This product claims to moisturize the lips and not reveal dead skin but as always, I would suggest prepping the lips by using a lip scrub to remove the dead skin and to make your lips healthier no matter what lip product you use.
For the gradient lip effect, apply a layer on the center of the lips. Let dry for a couple of seconds, apply another layer starting from the center of the lips and then to the rest of the lips for a more vibrant color.
Out of the six shades available, I was quite in a dilemma on which shade I should choose to review. Since it's already the fall season I think it is more appropriate to review one of the red shades. In the end I chose RD03 Merlot Burgundy since it is a deeper shade of red and would be a great fall/winter color.
Merlot Burgundy is such a perfect name for this shade. Although one layer of this shade can look a bit bright, it gives the illusion that you were imbibing yourself with a nice glass of red wine. A couple more layers of this tint actually gives you a deeper shade, almost plummy. This lip tint even taste like sweet wine!
This lip tint gives a nice sheen on the lips that makes it very moisturizing. It is not overly glossy, neither it is sticky or uncomfortable on the lips - very natural on the lips.
I really love this wine lip tint and I can see why it has been a Asian beauty cult favorite as of late. Even one of my favorite YouTuber, Sunnydahye, has mentioned the Chateau Labiotte Wine Lip Tints in her videos a couple of times (Try On: Makeup Made of Wine, Makeover into a KPop Idol).
There's only one thing that I didn't find true in my use of this lip tint, it's longevity. It didn't stay on my lips for more than 4 hours but the swatch on the back of my hand stayed on for the entire day and I actually quite a hard time taking it off from my hand. I don't know if it's just my lips and it's texture and I don't know what to make of that particular situation. I don't mind reapplying the tint throughout the day but it is a little bit disappointing that it didn't last longer than I expected on my lips. Still it is a great tint and it is worth the hype if I may say so.
Chataeu Labiotte Wine Lip Tint has 7g of product and originally retails for $14.95. It is currently on sale at BB Cosmetic for $12.50. You can also get the whole set of the Labiotte Wine Lip Tint for $56.95 (originally $60.99)
