Spring 2016: Bright Lips and Space Buns

Street style fashion and beauty trends is what most people have been going for lately rather than the runway trends. I personally like this year's trends which still incorporates last year's style of crop tops, plaid shirts, asymmetrical skirts and such. Athletic clothing is also being worn out daily and for most occasions now not just in the gym and courts.

The 90's style is still in which reminds me of my childhood but way cooler. I love wearing heels although my feet always ends up sore but I'm glad sneakers are more on trend. Runners and trainers are all the rage especially Nike Air Max's, Adidas Superstars and NMDs. I'm not a sneakerhead but I do own my fair share of sneakers that probably is a lot for a normal person.

Anyway, heading on to the beauty side of the trend you will see a lot of double Dutch braids, half top knots, full and half double buns or what is more known as space buns. Unicorn hair is also very popular which is basically sporting several hair color in full on brights and neon or cooled down silvery toned colors. Exciting but I'm not willing to let my hair get bleached. I've been dying to get silvery purple locks but I don't have the courage to put my hair through the process.

Since I'm a huge sissy in getting my hair bleached I'll stick to the less stressful hair trends which are the Dutch braids and buns. Today I've put my hair up in half double buns. Such a no brainer to do, just divide your hair into sections, twist into a bun and then tie with an elastic. I love these buns so much however they don't look too good on me. I have to angle my face in a certain way to look cute. I think this is mainly due to how thin the buns are and my face is too big. Lmao. But I do like sporting this look once in a while. The look I have been doing often is the half top knot/bun. It's cute and reminds me of a a Japanese samurai. You'll see it often in my snapchats. :)

As for makeup, well, there's just the influx of liquid lipsticks that comes in different finishes like matte, satin, velvet and even metallics. Every cosmetic company seems to jump into the liquid lippie bandwagon.

Anyway, today, let me just give you a quick rundown of the items used in this look. It is fairly easy. Not a lot of fuss and it is a very typical makeup look that I've probably done a hundred of times in this blog. The only difference are the items I'm using. Most of the products are fairly new, we'll at least in my collection.

Vely Vely IM Custom Coloring Browcara

Another Vely Vely product that was sent to me was the IM Custom Coloring Browcara.

Everybody who is into beauty are all so familiar with brow mascaras which is a product that colors, defines and sets the brows in place. With the hair color trend well on its way, you want your brows to match the color of your hair without actually needing to dye your brow hairs.

Vely Vely has 3 shades for their IM Custom Coloring Browcara line, Gold Brown, Red Brown and Deep Brown which are the most popular hair color. Gold brown for those who have lighter hair with gold tones, red brown for those with reddish tones and deep brown for brunettes and dark haired gals. I would love to see more shades from them that would match other hair colors as well or at least have something suited for those gals who are sporting Unicorn/festival hairs this summer.

I was sent the Red Brown shade which is very close to my current hair color. This product is smudge proof so you won't have to worry about your brows getting bald throughout the day. It is also very much sweatproof and waterproof as I have tested. I have swatched it below on the back of my hand and believe me, it was slightly tough to remove.

The brush is also interesting. It is short but is slightly wider on one side with the wider side, the setting side which you use to brush and set the brow hairs. And the shorter side, the coloring side to allow more color to be dispensed onto the brow hairs and to the skin where hairs are sparse or non existent.

I think I may have filled in my brows too much but I think this browcara actually did the job of filling in. Although I think I could have went a little bit more light handed with using it for the front portion of my brows, nevertheless I think color pay off and fullness was achieved. It does seem just a shade more red than my current hair color but I think this could work together with my current brow product. I have been filling my brows with a deep brown brow pomade and using the Vely Vely IM Custom Coloring Browcara in Red Brown I could run it through my brow hairs to set and give a slightly reddish tint to match my hair.

The Vely Vely IM Custom Coloring Browcara retails at 18,000KW ($18) a bit up there but it does do a great job!

Vely Vely IM Custom Flawless Concealer in Natural Review

Vely Vely is a Korean cosmetic brand that is fairly new to me. It has been pretty popular as of late and I have seen it reviewed by a lot of beauty bloggers but I have never tried any of their products. Thankfully, bntNews was so gracious to send this out for me to try!

I'm reviewing today the Vely Vely IM Custom Flawless Concealer in the shade Natural. The packaging is pretty simple, no frills, which I greatly prefer. Main color is pale pink and black-brown. I like how the concealer is in a clear tube so you can see the product right away.

The concealer is dispensed through a doe foot applicator which is wider than most and is "spatula shaped" which is great for applying on your under eyes. I didn't have to go back to the tube and get more product since it definitely gave just enough to cover both under eye circles.

There are only two shades in this line, Light and Natural, which is quite a bummer since it will cater only to those with fair skin tones. I have noticed when I swatched Natural that it has an ashy, cool, undertone which you would find in most (if not all) Asian BB Creams. This worried me a little bit but I also did notice that it has a bit of yellow tones which is preferable for my skin tone. Although still a shade light for me, I was positive this would work out just fine.

The formula of this concealer is thicker than a liquid concealer. Somehow, it is more of a mousse and when blended was powdery smooth.

In the photos, I'm only wearing the Vely Vely concealer. No foundation or any other base makeup and just a light blush. Although my bad lighting made me look like I still had dark under wye circles, I am pleased to tell you that the concealer was really able to conceal it fully in real life. I did have to use two layers to achieve it since dark circles have always been my problem area but even one coat would be enough for those that doesn't suffer from extremely dark  under eye circles.

I'm giving this concealer a two thumbs up! I have also applied it to the areas where I have redness and just blended the rest to my face with a damp sponge and I'm very happy to say that I would be confident in going out with just this. It even has SPF30/PA++ so you don't have to worry about harmful UV rays! It evened out my skin tone, got rid of the redness and the unwanted darkness underneath my eyes. It is very natural and has a powdery finish so you don't have to worry about setting it or it moving. It doesn't feel drying either (it has a high water content unlike most products) so it is great for oily and dry skin! If you really are extremely oily I suggest just lightly tapping on some loose powder.

And that's it for my review on this Vely Vely Custom Flawless Concealer. If you're wondering my my brows are bald.... Well, just wait for the next review on a brow mascara! :)

Oh and did you see my new tattoo above? You guys are the first to see it since I haven't uploaded it yet in anu other social media except Snapchat! Follow me in snap @urhappybunnie! 😊
