Forencos Lips in Love Lip Tint Review

I always get excited whenever I receive makeup products in my BNT Beauty Box especially if they are eye and lip items.  So imagine my excitement when I saw the Forencos Lips in Love Lip Tint with it's chic packaging in my box.

Since 1988, Forencos has been putting out environmental cosmetics in Korea but this brand is practically still a newbie in the international market.  It had started making its name in the foreign market when the Lips in Love Lip Tint was introduced by Kpop idol, SISTAR's SoYou.

There are 7 shades in the Lips in Love line and I received 04 Lol Lol Lol, a bright coral pink shade.  The lip tint claims to apply smoothly on the lips without dry patches on dry lips,  high pigmentation with a lip gloss formula but without the stickiness.

The applicator is more flexible than the usual lip applicators.  This can be both good and bad.  Good that it can reach all the areas of your lips.  Bad, you would lose control and it is pretty easy to go over the lines of your lips especially since this color is very bold and you would always need the aid of a mirror to apply to make sure you put it on precisely and perfectly.

The color pay off is amazing.  I personally think this is more of a liquid lipstick rather than a lip tint.  It does give you a slight gloss but if you want a more matte and longer lasting lip color, I suggest you blot the color out with the back of your hand or a tissue.  It doesn't really hold through eating and drinking.  As for the claims of no dry patches on dry lips, well, that doesn't hold true either. Although it is moisturizing on the lips, you definitely would see dry patches.

I do have a love/hate relationship with this particular product but the color is pretty and it's the shade that I typically go for.  It is something that I do recommend if you are in the market for a new brand to try out when it comes to lip tints or lip lacquers.

May Coop Raw Sauce Review

First introduced by KPop idol from Secret, Song Ji Eun at Get It Beauty, this product is a multi function essence that combines the effects of toner, essence and lotion.

May Coop uses maple tree sap in their skin care line due to its nourishing and revitalizing properties.  It has high absorbability due to its smaller molecules and is rich in glycerin which makes it a very effective moisturizer and reinforces skin immunity.

The maple sap is collected during the spring (May) for maximum potency.

The packaging has a nature imbibed feel due to its wooden looking box packaging.

The Raw Sauce contains 93% maple sap, fructan powder (eco-certified), Asian herbal and fruit extracts that makes the skin dewy. It is recommended for all skin types.

When I first saw the name 'Raw Sauce' I thought that it would be something food related but the more I used this product the more I come to see that it is actually food for the skin.  Since it is an all in one product, I skipped using other skin care products during my night time routine and just applied it alone.

The texture is slightly slippery like that of a typical essence, a little bit thicker than a toner and more like a lotion but not quite.  It applied nicely on the skin and absorbs right on but does not leave the skin dry. It is definitely a hydrating skin product and indeed makes the skin look dewy.  If you are oily, I suggest skipping this in the morning but use it during your night time routine instead. If you are on the extremely dry side, you may use it with a moisturizer to keep the skin even more hydrated. If you're normal to combination, it is good to use alone, morning and evening.

Raw Sauce also has that fragrant, slightly sweet smelling scent that is pleasing to the nose, so that's a huge plus in my books.  :)

The huge bottle of Raw Sauce is 150ml and retails around $42.  It is quite pricey but then again it would take you  a long time to finish the whole bottle so I think it is worth it.

The May Coop Raw Sauce is now available online (and maybe in stores) at Sephora. It retails for $43.  All other product information can also be found at the Sephora website.

Too Cool for School Check Hot Girl Lash Review

Summer is here and it's pretty much the time to try out and rock those pretty vibrant, sweat-proof and waterproof makeup you have.  This is the best time to see if they live up to their claims!

On the chopping board today is Too Cool for School's Check Hot Girl Lash which comes in 3 party rocking shades: Nuts Brown, Royal Blue and Raspberry Pink.

This mascara collection comes in atypical colors (Royal Blue and Hot Pink)  and a neutral shade (Nuts Brown) for those who are slightly afraid of lash colors. It is great for special and fun occasions like concerts and festivals (check out this bntNews article for a Festival Look using this mascara!).

I received the shade Nuts Brown and I won't complain since I don't really wear colored mascaras expect for dark brown, which is very close to a black shade. I've tried a purple mascara before but I think I've only used it once and I kinda like it but it is definitely not something I would wear everyday.

The Check Hot Girl Lash claims to create lash volume and provide vibrant color pay off that would make your lashes stand out.  It also has a creamy texture and a Curl Up Polymer technology that provide long lasting, water and sweat proof formula that will maintain the curl of your lashes. It also contains black sesame, black soybean, and blackberry extract.

I really like the wand for this mascara.  It has an hourglass shape and has natural fiber bristles instead of plastic. This type of wand hugs onto the lash line perfectly giving it an easier comb through.

The shade Nuts Brown is very different from the brown mascara shades I have seen in the market.  Nuts Brown is a little bit lighter and has a more noticeable reddish tone to it that gives your eyes a definite pop.  My dearest boyfriend definitely noticed it even if I only had one coat on.

One coat

Three coats

I can't say this is a volumizing type of mascara but it did pretty well on giving separation and definition on my lashes with one coat.  Building it up was a different matter because on the third coat it was just looking thick and clumpy but the color was definitely more highlighted.

Through a very hot day, my mascara coated lashes made it without any smudging but I'm pretty sure it won't survive a dunk in the water. It somewhat held the curl and even with just that I was impressed because I have very typical Asian lashes which are short and straight.

The Too Cool for School Check Hot Girl Lash retails for around $10 at Koreadepart

I pretty much had a good experience with this particular product. I love the  brush which gave me ease and perfect control in application, I like the formula and the fact that it lasted throughout a hot day and slightly held  curl. The color was pretty nice too and for somebody who loves neutrals but not completely opposed to colors, this is the perfect way to make the eyes pop subtly.

It is a little bit pricey considering its only 6g which is a deluxe sample size in comparison to the typical mascara tubes in the market.  I'm not that big on getting really voluminous lashes but I was expecting to get more volume from it without having it to clump that much. And though this product is indeed sweat proof, I prefer my mascaras to be waterproof since my eyes often gets watery and I don't want to risk having mascara run down my face.

Overall it's a pretty decent product that is worth the try especially during the hot and fun summer months !

Amaranth Messaline Ultra Hydrating Cream Review

One of the surprises of getting BNT Beauty Boxes is trying out cool, new products, some you've never heard before.  But sometimes, we get the products we have previously been sent before as well, which can't be helped because the brand companies send them out to BNT for the beauty bloggers to try out.

Today's beauty review is on the Amaranth Messaline Ultra Hydrating Cream. When I first received this product I immediately saw the similarities in packaging to my previously reviewed Amaranth Ultra Hydrating Cream.  I used the Messaline to see if there are NY difference between the previous one I received but after using it for a couple of weeks,  I came to the conclusion that it might be one and the same.

I checked with Nawael, of bntNews and she confirmed that it is the same product with a revised packaging.

Here are the photos of the previous packaging from my review dated November 2014 for the Amaranth Ultra Hydrating Cream:

As you can see they only changed the name and added 'Messaline' to it and then changed the silver into gold for the packaging, everything remained the same.  It still has that sleek deep blue color and I'm still bored on how Samsung's logo is on the side of the box (I mentioned this on my previous post).

The Ultra Hydrating Cream has that water drop drop texture/formula that has been quite popular with skin care products lately.  It contains cabbage rose, red ginseng, and chamomile extracts that boosts moisture and skin elasticity and at the same time calms the skin.

I haven't changed my opinion of this product. I still use it everyday prior to makeup application because it smooths out the face and acts like a primer.  It absorbs quickly on the face and leaves the face hydrated throughout the day even if it's underneath makeup.

I love this product so much that I used this prior to applying makeup to my sister-in-law's bridesmaids (check out the July 2015 update).  I was tasked to do hair and makeup for the bridesmaids on my brother's wedding and I used a matte airbrush foundation. Knowing it would slightly dry out the skin, I used the Ultra Hydrating Cream to moisturize and prep the skin and the results were amazing.

This is one of the products that I would highly recommend to all skin types.

Daeng Gi Meori Oriental SPECIAL Shampoo Review

Isn't it wonderful to have soft and healthy hair and scalp? I'm one of those girls who constantly try to find great products for my crowning glory.

I'm slightly obsessed with my hair and I have been dyeing it from black to brown to red and over again for the past 3 years.  I may not be adventurous enough to bleach it yet, and the most extreme I did was probably cutting it real short on my own last November. It was a big change for me since I haven't had short hair in a really long time.  I have also posted a hair update on February of this year to show how it has grown since I cut it and the products I was using.

"Did you do something with your hair? It seems like there's something different about it," my boyfriend said. I was mildly surprised since I haven't been doing anything special with my hair.  In fact I have been so busy that I haven't really been doing my hair routine properly nor have I dyed my roots. The only thing I changed up was my shampoo. The July BNT Beauty Box contained a huge bottle of the Daeng Gi Meori Oriental SPECIAL Shampoo and I have been trying it out for the past 3 weeks.

His main observation was it was softer than it previously was.  And he was right.  I have been so preoccupied that I didn't even notice that my hair was softer and more manageable than before and I didn't even use my hair oil. I also haven't been scratching my head that often, which was a sign of my extremely dry scalp.

The Daeng Gi Meori Oriental SPECIAL Shampoo's major claim is to protect and soften the hair.  It contains 35% of ripe and enriched medicinal ingredients as well as a patented substance extracted from lily.

I have mentioned time and again on my hair posts that I have dry scalp which is irritating when it's itchy and I get flakes as well which is just not pretty to have. These is aggravated all the more when I use clarifying shampoos which deep cleanses the roots and scalp. I love that squeaky clean feeling when I use clarifying shampoo but the itchiness and flaking are too extreme that I feel like my head is gonna fall off.

This Oriental shampoo on the other hand gives you that fresh, squeaky clean feeling on the scalp but does not completely dry it down to flakes. In fact, the itchiness and flaking has dissipated.

The shampoo contains vitamins and minerals, marine phyto-complex, caulerpa racemosa extracts, antioxidative chlorella and fermented Pseudoalteromonas that protects and moisturizes scalp. Wilfordii root, false daisy and hazelnut extracts provide energy and vitality to tired scalp.

It also contains keratin and Camelia That treat damaged scalp from within and reinforces elasticity.

I would not lie and say that only using this shampoo and nothing else will soften your hair.  True, it did cleanse my hair properly, removing the grease and dirt but in comparison to other clarifying shampoos, this will not leave your scalp extremely as dry as the others. However, to prevent dryness to the ends of the hair which tends to be more prone to breakage, you still would need to condition the hair.  I'm still using the L'Oreal  Total Repair Extreme Reconstructing Conditioner which I have been using for the longest time already.  Using both together have made such a difference that even my boyfriend has noticed when he couldn't be bothered to notice those kind of things before. I have used the conditioner for a really long time now and I haven't gotten this kind of results before when I used different shampoos with it.

The shampoo is slightly thick in consistency with a brown sugar color.  It smells fragrant too, very similar to most shampoos fragrances in the market.  It lathers up nicely and rinses off pretty well although it is recommended that the hair the rinsed out twice.  For those with dry hair and problematic scalp, it is recommended to be used morning and night for a short period of time, maybe a week and two, the maximum.  It shouldn't be used with another hair product. Those are the brand recommendations but I personally think that it is okay to use conditioners for the ends of your hair to smooth it out.  Hair oils can still be used in my opinion as long as you only apply it on the ends of the hair and not on the roots.

Have you guys noticed how long my hair is already??? My hair grew twice faster when I started using the shampoo!

UPDATE: Where have I been?

Hey guys! I'm so excited to be back to blogging! So many of you might have been wondering what happened to me. I have just been really busy and the months of May, June and the first part of July has been extremely stressful.

First off I was preparing for my brother's wedding.  He got married Labor Day Weekend and though I wasn't part of the bridal party, I was in charge of doing hair and makeup for the bridesmaids and the flower girls.  That was my first major makeup gig so I had to get everything in order and was just going over the makeup and hairstyles for all the girls.  I didn't have much photos with me for the before and after of the girls just because I didn't have much time during that day but here are some lovely photos from the wedding.  😊

Congratulations to my dear brother and sister in law!

Oh and I caught the bouquet you guys!

Two days after my brother's wedding I decided to finally get my first ink. I have been wanting to get a tattoo since I was in college but I never had the chance to do it. For a long time I have also been debating what to get. When I finally got the design figured out and where I want it, a couple of my friends told me they wanted to come with me when I get it done. Unfortunately, that didn't happened because our off days just never seem to work out.

I was also looking for the best tattoo parlor around my area, Jersey City, that would make my first tattoo experience awesome and I found it at Body and Soul Tattoo II. They are located at 1st St, Jersey City and have amazing artists!

The day I got my ink done I was just thinking of walking into the shop and get a price quote for my design. Luckily, Pete, one of the artists of the shop was free the time I walked in and I immediately just jumped on the opportunity to get it done.

Pete was wonderful and did an amazing job with my tat!

The week after the wedding I had to prepare for the Philippine Independence Day Parade which was held in New York last June 7, 2015. I was asked to be one of the muses to walk in the parade representing my city, Bacolod City and the Masskara Festival. I was joined by several beautiful ladies and amazingly talented dancers hailing from the City of Smiles.

My mom's friend, who's also a Councilor of the city flew in to join the parade!

It was a wonderful experience and I'm happy to represent the city that I love and extremely miss.

The month of June was also full of celebrations with slight frustrations.  Most of my family member's birthdays are in June. That started off with my mom's birthday on the 6th, followed my my cousin's birthday on the 17th, my nephew's birthday on the 19th, my boyfriend's on the 21st and mine on the 22nd (yep, our birthdays are just right after the other!).

We celebrated Father's Day and our birthdays at Pennsylvania with our families and it's also our first year together.

As for the frustrating and stressful part of June, well, we ran into a huge family problem that I just won't divulge for the sake of my sanity.

Anyway, the day after my birthday I traveled all the way to visit my aunt in Wildwood, New Jersey and the day after that we went to Maryland to visit my cousin and his girlfriend. It has been awhile since I've seen my cousin and it was just a great trip.

July 4th was another great weekend since two of my younger cousins came to visit and the family just had a mini reunion at Atlantic City.

Finally, last weekend, I had to attend another wedding with my boyfriend because his cousin got married.

Whew.  There were a lot of other small outings in between all those activities but that's what made me drop out of the blogosphere for the past two months.  I'm not exactly done with these one day vacations because this week I have to take out my cousins and then my cousin from Maryland are also coming over this weekend to see New York.

So I didn't disappear and died guys! I'm alive and happy to finally bring you some beauty related posts in the next days to come!

Oh, I am still part of the BNT Beauty Bloggers but I had to put it on hold for the last 2 months because of my activities. The next posts are gonna be products from my latest BNT Beauty Box so stay tuned!

Love lots,
