SNP Bird's Nest Aqua Eye Patch Review

I'm getting the feeling that Bird's Nest is making a huge wave in the skin care department as of late. This is the second bird's nest product that I received and this time it's from the brand SNP which if you remember, I reviewed their adorable Animal Sheet Masks.

The main ingredient for the eye patch is swiftlet nest extract and hyaluronic acid. Swiftlet nest extract contains sialic acid and is 200 times more nourishing than royal jelly and has vitamins that helps recover tired skin. This product claims to treat dry eyes by delivering moisture and energy to the skin, promotes skin elasticity and firmness, cools the skin and eases fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes.

The eye patches comes in a small jar that is very similar to creams. I actually thought that this was a cream that you put underneath your eyes but I was fairly surprised to find out that they were gel patches. I have used a similar one before by another brand but the pair of eye patch came in a pack and not a jar. I can't tell exactly how many pairs of patches are in the jar but just judging from how it looks, I think this would last me for months! It also comes with a spatula so you can easily separate a patch from the rest.

The gel patch has a bluish tint to it that glimmers in the light and I consider that very fascinating. I am amazed by little things if you still can't tell. ^^ This smells amazing too and I have said these in my previous reviews of "aqua" products, I really love fresh watery scents and this product appeals to me very much.

If you can't tell by the photo above, I have bad dark circles and it's not because of lack of sleep. It's just how my under eyes naturally look like. In the photo I have the patch underneath my eyes but the darkness still peeks through. Since the product doesn't claim any brightening or lightening effect I didn't expect my dark circles to go away. The cooling effect did however subdue the puffiness underneath my eyes. I left the patch on for about 15 minutes and I can instantly tell that the area is thoroughly moisturized. The area wasn't wet with essence but it has absorbed nicely into my skin. I just feel refreshed and awake instantly.

I am really loving this product. I still have 2 products left to review for the April BNT Beauty Box but I must say that this product is on the top of my favorites.

MEDIHEAL H.D.P. Pore Stamping Charcoal Mineral Mask Review

I enjoy sheet masks! I really do! I'm a huge fan of it that I always try and get them when I can but the thing is, they get expensive too. I always save my sheet masks for spa day and getting ready for events. They make my skin so amazing and makeup looks fantastic because it adheres more efficiently to the skin.

Today's sheet mask review is the MEDIHEAL H.D.P. Pore Stamping Charcoal Mineral Mask. Whew. Quite a mouthful for a name!
A little background on MEDIHEAL. MEDIHEAL is a brand that was created and tested by aesthetic specialist using principles of treatments. They incorporate special skin prescription and know-how of skin specialists to provide custom solutions for an individual's skin problem MEDIHEAL uses highly concentrated formulation of natural materials that helps the unbalanced skin to become healthier by making it resistant to stress and restoring skin balance.

H.D.P. stands for High Definition Pixel. The main purpose of this mask is to tighten the skin and diminish the appearance of pores, key elements in looking flawless and "high definition." The main ingredients for this mask is the LS8865(homes Officinalis - Mushroom Extract) and ZINC PCA which tightens pores and controls excessive sebum. It also contains Seagrape extract and Camellia sinensis callus culture extract which nourishes the skin to become resilient and lift the skin.

The mask is black and the material is slightly thick with a felt texture. The sheet is fully soaked with the essence but it does not have a lot of extra essence in the packet. The essence is also a little bit thick in texture and quite slippery. It has a fresh, clean scent to it that is somehow relaxing.

Using the mask is easy and you just have to do the basic steps in using a sheet mask. With a freshly washed face, apply your toner. Remove mask from the packaging and fit to the face. Leave it on for 10-20 minutes. I usually do chores, read a book or watch a movie while using a mask. I sometimes even take a nap and I wake up rejuvenated! After the said time, remove the mask and pat the remaining essence into the skin for it to be absorbed.

Above is a before and after photo of me. I didn't really notice much of a difference on my skin after using it although it did get rid of some redness. My skin felt tacky from the essence and kept my skin moisturized. I applied my makeup as usual and my makeup looked flawless. The only thing is that I noticed that my face produced more oil than it usually does which is quite contradictory as to what this mask is supposed to do, which is control excess sebum. It might be that this is not for my skin type because I have a normal to combination skin right now.

Other than that, I don't have anything bad to say about this mask and I really like it, except for the fact that I might not use it as a mask when getting ready prior to an event. I don't think my makeup would last long if my skin kept producing oils. This would be perfect if my skin just needs a pick me up or extremely dry.
It does say at the back of the packaging of the mask that "considering the skin's 4-week turnover term, it is most effective to use consecutively 2-3 times a week for 4 weeks (concentrated skin management program)" to see great results. Having only used this twice, I cannot vouch for the claims of this mask except from what I have experienced but I am gonna try and do the program to see if it does work.
Tip if you're a sheet mask lover like I am, pop your mask in the fridge for about 5-10 minutes before use. This would be great during a very hot summer day!

Konad Classic Jeans Nail Collection Review

Denim is on trend yet again and it has even been on the runway for the Spring 2015 collections. Along with it's rise back in fashion is it's innovative appearance in beauty. Konad, the brand the brought us "stamping" nail art, is getting on with the denim trend by introducing to us their Classic Jeans Nail Collection.

Konad's new product, the Classic Jeans Nail Collection comes in six shades: Black Jeans, Turkey Blue Jean, Midnight Blue Jean, Real Jean, Smoke Blue Jean and Ice Jeans. These nail polishes mimics the texture of jeans with great color impact. It claims to have smooth nail polish application and is long lasting.

It also is free of toluene and other harmful components that are present in other nail lacquers. Toluene exposure leads to toluene toxicity and can either be from short term or long term exposure. This primarily targets the central nervous system. Thankfully most companies removed them from their ingredient list. You can be rest assured that Konad doesn't have any harmful components in their nail polishes.

So here are the pretty nail lacquers from the Classic Jeans Collection. On the right is the Midnight Blue Jeans polish and on the left is the Smoke Jeans polish. I'm quite surprised that this is a textured lacquer since I didn't really notice it until it has completely dried. More sandy than denim but a very fine sand effect. I think you can't really get a fabric texture but it comes quite close.

It takes 2-3 coats of polish for it to be completely opaque but it does apply quite evenly. The Midnight Blue Jeans has very fine blue and silver glitters in it, not really noticeable but it does give a denim effect. The Smoke Blue Jeans isn't really blue. It's more gray and reminiscent of stone or acid washed jeans.

The wear of this polishes are impressive since they lasted a good 5 days before I saw wear and chipping on them. Mind you, there was no top coat involved so that, in my books, is a long lasting polish.

Thumbs up for another great product from Konad! I quite enjoy them and they bot look good, mix and matched on my nails. ^^

I have previously reviewed Konad Stamping Nail Art Kit so check that out if you're interested to see more products from Konad!

[Pinky Paradise] G&G/Dueba/Barbie Big Size Circle Violet Review

Ever been so bold to wear crazy colored circle lenses? I have previously tried blue, pink and green and they were just blah to me, except for the pink, but I've always wanted to try a violet colored lens but whenever I would order a pair I would still choose a natural colored lens. This time, when Pinky Paradise reached out to me and asked me what pair I wanted to review, I decided to just go for it and asked for the Barbie Big Size Violet.

Each purchase of a circle lens comes with a free macaron case and if you want a cute animal case instead, you should just comment on the order form during checkout that you want an animal case. Pinky Paradise gives freebies! In fact, they sent me a velcro for the hair to keep it away from your face while applying lenses and makeup.

i was lucky to be sent a purple hippo lens case together with my lenses. Since the case is purple and so are the lenses, I am able to distinguish which lens I have in my collection of circle lenses.

The G&G Barbie Big Size Violet circle lens has a diameter of 14.5mm, base curve of 8.9mm, and has 38% water content. As you can see on the label on the vial, the manufacturing date and expiration date is printed. If left unopened, this vial will last until it's expiration date but otherwise, it has a life span of one year.

These lenses are pretty intense. It certainly would make anybody looking at you do a double take since the color is popping. With a diameter of 14.5mm and a thick & dark limbal ring (outer ring), this lenses gives you a dolly or bigger eye look.

I am very unfamiliar with the G&G brand. I have heard about the brand awhile back since I started using circle lenses but I have always preferred GEO Medical lenses when I personally order my lenses. Surprisingly, the G&G Barbie circle lens is very comfortable to wear. I didn't have any issues when applying it and wearing. In fact, I feel like it is on par with GEO lenses when it comes to comfort and longevity of wear. I have tried wearing the lenses for about 10 hours and there was no dryness on my eyes.

The violet color of the lens may not be everyone's cup of tea but it is a pretty lens. I love how big my eyes looked and for those natural eye color lovers out there, a brown, black or gray colored Barbie lens would be perfect for a natural dolly eyed look. I like the design but I wish there was more personality to it since the design on the lens is very common on circle lenses.

Comfort: ♥♥♥/5
The G&G Barbie Big Size Circle lens retails for $25.90 at Pinky Paradise. Check out Pinky Paradise for more circle lens choices!
Pinky Paradise has been around since 2006 and is a trusted and renowned online retail merchandiser of trendy circle lens. Their customer service is excellent. Coreana Rodin SHO 3-Step Pore Pack

Who loves nose strips here? I do! I have horrible nose pores and I know how it grosses out some people but I actually enjoy seeing all that gunk when you peel off a strip. *smh*

The Coreana Rodin SHO line has a 3-Step Pore Pack! Exciting since I have previously tried the Coreana Rodin SHO Cream and my skin really liked it.

This 3 step pore pack opens up pores, cleans them up, eliminates blackheads and tightens the pores. The strips are made of bio-cellulose which is derived from coconut water.

Step 1 is the Blackhead Melting Sheet
It melts and brings the blackheads to the surface with the help of horse oil.

Apply this step for 15-20 minutes. Clean the nose with a cotton swab.

This is a prep for the second step which is the actual pore strip. Though this takes up time, I like how it softens the nose area. It does slightly have an alcohol smell so if you don't like the smell well, heads up.

Step 2 is the Blackhead Absorption Strips
This is the step we're all familiar with. This is very similar to all the nose strips out in the market. This removes blackheads, white heads and sebum that clogs our pores.

Splash water onto the nose, remove the transparent film and apply the strip onto your nose for 10-15 minutes. Once completely dry, slowly remove the strip starting from the edge.

It is a very satisfying feeling removing a pore strip from your nose and as I said earlier I enjoy seeing the gunk. The dirty pore strip is a testament to how well this product actually works. Unfortunately, photos from my test were lost and I had absolutely no time to redo all the photos. You can refer to Kim & Bella's review and photos for the effectiveness of this strip! Personally, it worked great and I believe that the first step was indeed helpful in removing so much blackheads, whiteheads and dirt from my nose.

Step 3 is the Pore Tightening Sheet
A bio-cellulose sheet that is soaked with horse oil, this last step closes and tightens the pores that were opened during the second step. It also helps calm the skin and prevents blackheads.

The actual sheet is like a flat piece of coconut jelly (bio-cellulose) and is sandwiched between two sheets. Apply it on the nose for 5-10 minutes, remove and massage the essence on the nose.

An extra step which I think is very helpful. We usually neglect our noses and pores after we remove the blackheads not thinking that our pores are wide open and when it's wide open, chances are, it will get clogged up again by dirt and sebum.

The two sheets that encloses the actual strip.

The concept of this 3-step pore strip is good and quite effective but the time it takes to do the whole thing takes up half an hour. It's a pain if you have a lot of things to do but if you're doing a spa day or maybe just around the house working on some chores, it is a treat for your nose! ^^

Neogen Code 9 Lemon Green Caviar Essence & Tox Tightening Pack Kit

Another innovative and quite unique product that I've encountered from the BNT Beauty Box is the Neogen Code 9 Lemon Green Caviar Essence & Tox Tightening Pack.

This kit has 9 functions: removal of dead cells, moisturizing, tighten pores, reduces fine lines and wrinkles, blemish care, dark spot treatment, lifting, brightening, and whitening.
The green jar contains the essence and the white jar is the Tox Tightening Pack which contains 25 gauze pads. It is pretty easy to use this kit. All you have to do is pour the essence into the white jar with the gauze pads. It will fully soak and absorb the essence. Refrigerate for 9 hours and it will be ready to use. It is recommended to use this product within 2 months.

The essence mixed with lemon, green caviar, multi vitamins and 55 kinds of natural extracts. It also contains sea grape extract.

The gauze is made of 3 layers - 100% pure cotton gauze + cushion sheet + patterned pad - which allows for better absorption of the essence into the pad, remove dead skin cells and deliver active ingredient.

Remove a pad from the jar using the tweezers provided. I like to use the mesh  side which is lime green in color. This helps remove left over makeup and dead skin cells. Afterwards I turn over the pad to the embossed patterned side to deliver remaining essence.

This product is very cooling to the skin and coming from the fridge, it can be ice cold. It's nice for hot summer evenings for a nice cool down but it's also a great skin relief to those who have problem skin. Immediately, you will feel the effects of the product. It's perfect for those who have dry skin and have dry patches since the mesh side of the gauze effectively removes excess dirt and dead skin. The opposite side of the pad is soft and I love how you can fit two fingers in the compartment to easily use the gauze. After using the product my skin feels a tad bit tacky but it feels soft and thoroughly moisturized. You can see instant brightness on your skin too which I believe is the effect of lemon.

My skin absolutely loves this product and it's a must have product for a spa night! My skin has definitely became smoother when I started using this. Koreadepart sells this product for $36.58 which is not a bad price for what it's worth. The product should be used within 2 months and it has 25 gauze pads and I've been using it 2-3 times a week. It can be very expensive to use this daily but if you do, I'm sure your skin will thank you for it! ^^
