Fall 2014: Changing Leaves Makeup Look

Orange and red eyes are lovely for the fall since you're adding warmth to a very cool season. Here's my version of a warm eye look inspired by the changing leaves. I have lashes on to make it look glam but of course, for an everyday look, you can just use mascara.

Face/Cheeks/Lips:
  • Revlon Colorstay Foundation in Fresh Beige and Maybelline Fit Me Foundation in 220 Medium Beige - The Revlon foundation may look darker in the bottle but it actually is very light on my skin. I really love this foundation usually during the fall and winter season because it stays put on my face without drying my skin out. It also doesn't transfer on clothes once it sets so no matter how many clothes you layer it will not stain your clothes or mess your makeup. It literally stays all day. I mixed in a little bit of the Maybelline Fit Me to darken the shade a little bit and add a little bit more moisture.
  • Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 20 Sand -  Applying a lighter shade of concealer to hide under eye circles.
  • NYX Powder Blush in Rose Garden - Applying it lightly on my cheekbones to give a natural flush.
  • Urban Decay 24/7 Lip Liner in Naked -  Apply a natural rose shade of lip liner on the lips
  • Makeup Forever Lipstick in N9 - This is a tawny rose shade and applies a bit sheer hence the lip liner beforehand (this is another awesome shade to consider when you're looking for a Kylie Jenner lip color or the 90's grunge lip color).
Brows:
  • Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Nooner - Since I dyed my hair red I've been filling in my eyebrows with the matte cool reddish brown shadow from the Naked 3 palette and it actually matches my hair great. I still sometimes use my Lioele Auto Eyebrow Pencil in #2 mixed with the 3CE Brow Mascara in Gold. It really doesn't matter what I do with my eyebrows because I find that they still pretty much look good.
Eyes:
  • Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Eden - Apply all over the lid for a long long lasting eye makeup
  • Face Shop Lovely Me:Ex Shadow in Toast - Applying this as a blending shade on the crease and a little above it with a fluffy blending brush.
  • 3CE One Color Shadow in Saturn -This is the main lid color and this is a warm cranberry shade. Apply it with a flat shadow brush, focusing on just the lid.
  • 3CE Triple Shadow in Body to Body - Taking the golden peach shade on the far right, apply it above the lid shade (Saturn) and on top of Toast. Use the pink frosty shade and apply it on the tear duct area and on the inner portion of the lower lash line.
  • Wet n Wild Color Icon 6 Pan Palette in Lust - Using the plum/black shade with purple micro glitters, light apply this on the crease and the outer corner of the eye. This will add a slight dimension to the eye look. You can build the color up for a smokier look but I only applied a thin layer of this shadow. Take this shade on the tip of a flat shadow brush and apply it on the outer half of the lower lash line. Take a clean blending brush and blend it out.
  • 3CE Creamy Water Proof Eyeliner in Cats - probably one of the best waterproof eyeliner I've ever tried - this doesn't smudge or transfer when you apply as a tightline or on the waterline.I applied this as a tightline and on the outer half of my waterline.
  • L'Oreal Infallible Gel Liner in Black - Apply this on your upper lash line and wing out as you like.
  • Spiky False Lashes - Curl your lashes and apply mascara or falsies or both. I'm using this dollar lashes from eBay with my DUO Dark Tone Adhesive.

You have achieved a warm and neutral makeup look inspired by the changing leaves this fall season! I hope you like this look. I'm looking forward to doing more fall inspired makeup looks.

Fall 2014: Dark Intense Burgundy Hair

Fall and winter is all about the darker colors. Hair, makeup and even fashion. I've been wanting to dye my hair the prettiest plum/burgundy shade for a really long time. Its like this deep red with a lot of purple tones but it's really hard to get that shade unless you go to a great salon with a professional colorist. I'm not one to spend a lot on cut and color so I thought I'll look for the next best option: box dye.

I serched a lot on the internet what's the best plum/burgundy shade is out there and I found quite a few but when I actually went into Rite Aid, I instead went for this Garnier Nutrisse Ultra Color Nourishing Creme. It is in the shade BR2 Dark Intense Burgundy and is meant for naturally darker hair color. This box dye claims to lighten hair three times than a normal box dye would.

I stood there on the aisle pondering if I should really get this box dye since I have been using Revlon Colorsilk box dyes and I have never tried the Garnier ones. I wasn't sure how well the color would do on my hair so I was quite unsure. I was, however, swayed by two things: the promise of it bringing intense color to my hair and the price (it was BOGO 50% off).

Because my hair is so long, (it's now around 3 inches past my bust and around 4 inches short of my waist on the back), I had to purchase 3 boxes. I usually go for 2 boxes but since it was my first time trying out this particular dye I wasn't sure how much product there was. It's better to have an extra on hand. I didn't end up using the third box and I returned it instead.

The whole process was easy although a bit messy. I had to make sure there were towels all over the floor and on the sink. I naturally have dark hair but before dyeing it this intense burgundy shade I have a light brown hair, which you can see in my previous photos. I started with the tips of my hair, working in sections and lastly the roots. I wanted something brighter on the length of my hair and darker near the roots anyway so that when my hair grows out the transition from black to red wouldn't look that bad.

I believe I had the dye on my hair for 45 minutes before rinsing it off. Beware when washing out red hair dye! It almost seemed like there was a murder in our shower when I was rinsing it off. Prepare dark towels for your hair as well. Mind you, rinsing is such a pain because you'll never know when you're done because the color just keeps washing off. You will never get the water to rinse clear. I was fairly surprised how soft my hair was after dyeing it because it usually is a little bit brittle unless I use my L'Oreal Extreme Repair Conditioner, but this time I only used the conditioner that came with the box and it was really good.

This is how my hair turned out. It is a very pretty and intense red. I wanted something with more purple tones in it but I have grown to love this hair color so much. A lot of people had complimented me on it and have even asked which salon I went to - they were surprised to find out it was from a box dye!

I've had this hair color for almost a month now and it still is as bright as it was before. Even after a month the hair color still bleeds so I still use a dark towel to dry my hair and I make sure I don['t put any clothes on or lean on anything while my hair is still wet. I can also see a couple of centimeters of roots coming out but it transitions nicely into the red so it's all good.

So for all you ladies wanting to try out this shade, I highly recommend this Garnier Nutrisse Ultra Color Nourishing Creme line. It is pretty good and it retails for about $7.99 in the drugstore. They always have promos and sales going on and coupons so always watch out for those.

Makeup in the photos above are the same as the Kylie Jenner / 90's Grunge makeup look. The only difference is that I used Wet n Wild Mega Last Lip Color in 917B Cinnamon Spice and I just darkened the eyes a little bit more with the same shadows.

Fall 2014: Kylie Jenner Inspired / 90's Grunge Makeup Look

Hello my loves! It has been awhile since my last post and makeup look. I have been busy with my family and redoing my room. Actually painted the blue room white and I'm waiting for my new bed to come in. I haven't been up to taking photos and doing my blog since my room has been a mess for a couple of weeks because we also changed our carpet.

Anyway, I did this makeup look a month ago, before I even dyed my hair red and I totally forgot all about it until I looked through my camera. This has been inspired by Kylie Jenner. Some call it a 90's grunge look and it has been widely popular as of late and very fall appropriate. It is very simple to do and it mainly is just a matte and tanned look with brown or deep nude lips, or sometimes even a dark red lip color.
