Lipaid Lip Moisturizers Review

It has been a month or so since I've received these lip balms to try out but I had so many backed up products to review that it took me awhile to finally put this up.

These came from the brand Lipaid which is a British brand of lip care products. They have a broad range of products to choose from and I actually had fun trying them out as well as sharing them to friends and getting their opinions on it.

The Lipaid Original

I was sent two of these particular lip balm and I sent one to my friend Jill, also a beauty blogger, to try out when I sent her a care package. She said that she really like this product and according to her, it's moisturizing than any other lip care products that she has used.

I totally agree with her on this being moisturizing, however, I personally think that it is too slippery on the lips. It does make your lips so soft in the morning when you wake up if you apply it before bedtime. This particular lip balm has a faint vanilla scent that is barely noticeable.

Lipaid Original For Men

This is probably one of my favorite kind from the bunch that I was sent. Although it is specifically targeted for men, I had to try it out for myself and see what's the difference between the regular one and this one. This one has a slight peppermint scent but it isn't quite minty on the lips. It is also not as slippery as the Original one but is still very moisturizing.

Lipaid Strawberry Touch

This is the first one I've tried out when I first got these items. I am always drawn to berry flavored balms so I was quite excited to try this out. This lip product has a strawberry scent to it but it is not overpowering unlike some strawberry or berry flavored lip balms in the market. It also gives you pink tinted lips which is good if you don't want to carry multiple lip products since it's a lip moisturizer and lip color in one. The only thing I find at fault with this particular product is that again, it was too slippery on my lips and I didn't like how it feels. this also leaves a slight sheen on the lips which gives a slight gloss.

Lipaid Suncare

I totally forgot to take a photo of this lip product with the cap off but the actual product is a pale mustard yellow in color. It applies clear on the lips and has a slight lemon scent. This also has SPF 25 for sun protection. it is very similar in texture to the Original for Men. Although it glides on easily on the lips during application, it is not greasy nor slippery on the lips. It also doesn't leave a sheen on the lips but makes the lips just look healthy.

Pink Sheen Gloss

Different from the other lip products above, this one is in a squeeze tube with a slanted tip so you can easily apply the product directly on the lips. The actual product is a rose pink in color with a little bit of silver frost to it but once applied on the lips, looks sheer but glossy. It has a comfortable stickiness to it and it still leaves your lips really moisturized.

Q10 Anti Wrinkle

I'm not really sure how this anti-wrinkle formula works on your lips but I can definitely say that is my favorite out of all the products I have tried. It is in the same squeeze tube as the Pink Sheen but the product is clear and a little bit thicker in texture. this reminds me of Aquaphor Healing Ointment which I regularly use for my lips as well. This is so moisturizing and leaves your lips so soft and smooth. it also has a faint banana scent which is sweet and pleasant to the nose. this is especially a great treatment to dry and chapped lips especially if you leave it on throughout the night.

All of the lip care products from Lipaid contains Vitamins B5 & e and contains nutrient rich plant extracts and natural butters.

I hope you try out this product and I would definitely recommend you to try the Q10 Anti Wrinkle and Original for Men. The men in our lives need some lip care too so don't be shy in giving them lip balms. We all need lip hydration now that we are stepping into the colder months. ^^

Fall 2014: Plum Toned Makeup Look

I had a good run with my Spring and Summer 2014 series and now that we're moving on to Fall, it's only proper to do a Fall 2014 series as well. Fingers crossed I'll be able to keep it up til the winter season. Following the previous series format, I'll be putting up makeup looks incorporating the seasonal trend as well as tips to keep your skin healthy and ready for the cooler months to come.

Kicking off the series is this Plum Toned makeup look. With the weather being colder it has always been such a trend to go for darker makeup looks - smokier eye makeup and bolder, darker lips. Plum has always been the color that is associated with the Fall season.

  • 3CE Pore Silky Balm - This product comes with a small spatula and a sponge to smooth and the press the product on the skin. This primer has a soft, slightly powdery feel once on the skin and it truly does cover the pores leaving a nice, even canvas for the makeup.
  • Covergirl Stay Fabulous Foundation in Medium Beige & Urban Decay Urban Defense Tinted Moisturizer in Bulletproof - Since I need more hydration during the cooler season I'm mixing in this tinted moisturizer with my foundation. I'm still a shade darker so the tinted foundation which is too dark for me to use alone acts as a good color addition to the lighter shade of foundation that I have. I just applied this with a synthetic flat top kabuki brush.
  • Rimmel Stay Matte Translucent Powder - I always have issues with dry patches on my skin during the colder months but at the same time it is pretty easy for the makeup under my eyes to fade quickly. In order to avoid that problem I just give a light dusting of this powder under my eyes.
  • NARS Laguna Bronzer - I'm not going for an extremely sculpted face so I just slightly contoured my cheeks with this bronzer and lightly dusted it around my face as well just to have that semblance of the remaining "summer glow."
  • NARS Blush in Goulue - This is a plum toned blush and is very warm on the cheeks. Just apply it to the cheeks and blending them towards the back of the cheeks as well as with the bronzer.
  • NARS Higlighter in Devotee - Apply this highlighter on the high points of the face where the sun naturally hits - tops of the cheeks, bridge of the nose, forehead, chin and Cupid's bow.
  • 3CE Eyebrow Mascara in Brown & Gold - fill in the brows with brown, let it dry and apply the gold to lighten the brow hairs

  •  3CE Triple Shadow in #No No No - Apply the taupe shade (first shadow on the left) all over the lid with a flat shadow brush or with a clean finger. Take a fluffy blending brush and apply the plum shade (middle shade) on the outer corner of the portion of the eyes and blending out the first shade as well. Take a pencil brush and with the same plum shadow, apply this on the outer half of the lower lash line. Wipe off the pencil brush with a paper towel and take the last shade, which is a pale gold, and apply it on the inner corner of the eyes and the inner half of the lower lash line.
  • 3CE Creamy Waterproof Eyeliner in #4 Chicago - Line the upper lash line. Wing it out as you like and also connect the end of your line to the bottom lash line halfway through.
  • 3CE Pink I'm Good Mascara - Curl the lashes and apply mascara to both upper and lower lashes.

Hey ladies! I know it took me awhile to update. Well, life gets in the way sometimes and I hope I get to update more frequently. I have a couple of reviews and looks to be posted in the coming weeks. Oh, if you've been keeping up with me on Instagram and Facebook (@urhappybunnie) you'll know that I have recently dyed my hair red! Yes, I'm a redhead now and I'm loving it. ^^ I'll put up pictures soon and on how I got the hair.

See you next post!

Stylenanda 3CE Creamy Water Proof Eye Liner Review & Swatches

I've tried quite a number of 3 Concept Eyes products and I have been pretty impressed by most if not all of them. Today, it's gonna be a review on their Creamy Water Proof Eye Liners.

A long-lasting liner that is oil and water resistant to prevent smudging, the 3CE Creamy Water Proof Eye Liner seems to be a very promising item for those ladies who have watery eyes and always have a problem with their liners creating a mess at the end of the day.

I have been using these liners for weeks, experimenting with the application and wear of this product. True to its description and claims, these liners are truly waterproof and smudgeproof. I used this on my upper and lower waterline as well as my upper lash line and went for an hour long run and workout session. It surprisingly didn't give me panda eyes.

The liners are very pigmented that I didn't have to go over the lines twice to make it opaque. These liners are so smooth and creamy that it doesn't tug on your eyes when you use them. i love how they are retractable pencils and you don't have to bother sharpening them because you could twist them up. If you're finicky about pointed tips, don't worry, 3CE got you covered. you can removed the bottom of the liner, and voila! A sharpener to keep them pointy.

There are 14 shades for the Creamy Water Proof Eye Liner and I have here 3.

#1 Cats - Matte Black - You can never have too many black pencils especially waterproof ones! ^^
#4 Chicago - Pearlescent Purple - If you look closely you will be able to see purple micro glitters that gives this a pretty sparkle on your eyes.
#10 Mojito - Matte Mint - Launched along with 2 other liners as part of the VIVID collection for Spring & Summer this is my favorite for a pop of color!

I thoroughly enjoyed these liners and I hope you get to check them out as well. Each liner retails for $13.21 and I think that's a pretty good price for a mid range brand and product. Visit Stylenanda for more trendy Korean products and makeup. ^^

Belif Special Set (Peat Miracle Revital Serum Concentrate & Cream)

The first time I have heard about the brand Belif is when the bntGirls were informed that this brand and Beyond, will be joining the bntGirls beauty project. I have told my best friend and former beauty blogger, Jill, about this brand and she told me that is one of the best beauty brands out there. I started to a bit of researching on the products they had and I was quite excited to receive my own bnt Beauty Box and try out Belif products.

Belif (believe in truth), represents tradition, science and a promise to deliver true value to customers, and is a "true herbal cosmetic" brand that is based on the processes and philosophy of UK herbalist and botanist, Duncan Napier.

I was fairly surprised to find that I would not be only trying out one but two Belif products since bntNews sent in a Belif special set which contains the Peat Miracle Revital Serum Concentrate and the Peat Miracle Revital Cream.

Peat Miracle Revital Serum Concentrate

The main components of this serum is the peat herb extract which helps in skin protection. It aims to create resilient, healthy and radiant skin , provide skin nutrition and prevent wrinkles. This product does not contain non mineral oils, synthetic fragrance, synthetic ingredients and animal ingredients.

As opposed to the eye catching, blue box that this set comes in, the actual box packaging for the product is actually quite simple and clean looking. The serum concentrate comes in a generous 30 ml, light frosted green bottle which is cool and pleasant to my eyes. As much as I like cute packagings, I also love the simplistic beauty that this bottle have. It also comes with a dropper which is packaged separately in another box.

To use the serum, apply 2-3 drops on the face after using a toner.

I only needed 3 drops of this product to completely cover my face. The texture and consistency of the product is slightly watery and I noticed how quickly it absorbs into the skin. It doesn't leave any oily or tacky feeling on the skin but the skin does feel somewhat moisturized. Since it is a serum, it will not give an intense hydrating effect on the skin as a cream will do.

I am not a particularly a scent-sensitive person but I have noticed a fresh, slightly earthy scent to this serum. I quite like the subtle scent; it is very faint to be noticed and if you don't have a sensitive nose you might not even notice it.

As I said earlier, by itself, this serum won't give you any hydration. This product is supposed to nourish the skin and is also geared towards anti-aging. I have nothing negative to say about this serum but just like the previously reviewed Dermal Snail Nutrition Wrinkle Cream, I am not in awe of this product either.

Peat Miracle Revital Cream

The Peat Miracle Revital Cream holds the same packaging as the serum. It comes in a 50 ml frosted green jar with a plastic screw cap lid. I really love the earth-toned packaging that this Peat Miracle Revital line comes in.

The cream is described as a superbly rich, moist cream that provides intensive skin care treatment that nurtures and moisturizes the skin.

Pardon the lighting but the actual product is actually cream in color and not white. The texture reminds me so much of my all time favorite moisturizer which is the Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream in the sense that it is thick but melts and is absorbed easily by the skin. It doesn't feel greasy or tacky like other moisturizers.

Like the serum, it has a subtle fresh scent to it minus the earthy scent - this one more fresh water scented (if you get what I mean - it's hard to describe scents!).

This cream gives me adequate hydration throughout the night and goes really well with the Peat Miracle Serum Concentrate. I find that if I only use the cream by itself I don't get that much hydration to last me throughout the night. It is a fairly good cream for the end of summer where my skin is in the transition mode again. I am dreading the colder months because my skin gets extremely dry. With the weather being crazy, fluctuating between hot and chilly, this cream seems to be the perfect answer to my skin hydration needs. I'm sure this wouldn't be the best choice as my moisturizer for the colder fall weather but for now it is.

I am glad to be able to try out these two products and the Peat Miracle Revital Cream definitely trumps the serum. I quite like both products but not to the "I'm in love" with it point.

I hope you ladies quite like my 2 in 1 review of these Belif products. Please do check out their website for more information. I have to say that their website is probably one of the most interesting and cute beauty sites I've seen.

Dermal Snail Nutrition Wrinkle Care Cream Review

Snail skin care products has been quite popular as of late and today's product review is my 3rd snail product (MyPu Hyalu Water Volume Snail Gel Cream, Nature Republic Snail Solution).

The Dermal Snail Nutrition Wrinkle Care Cream is a "special creamthat promotes the natural healing process, enhances skin's ability to recover, dissolves dying cells and triggers cell regeneration and repair." It contains 80% of snail extract, aloe vera, licorice, cinnamon, shea butter, olive oil, vegetable squalene, and persimmon leaf.

I believe this is a photo of an old packaging

The box packaging is in gold and olive tones with picture of a snail on it. It also has a short English description of the product and the rest in Hangul. The jar being gold makes me feel like I'm using a very luxurious product.

The cream is a very clean white color and has a soft perfume scent to it, barely noticeable except if you have a sensitive nose. The cream itself is not thick but very hydrating, very much like a regular lotion  without the tackiness. It actually feels like cool water when rubbed on the face and it is absorbed by the skin quickly.

I actually really like this product. There isn't anything special or very unique about this product except it has snail extrat. To be honest, I thought that this would feel at least "slimy" like the other snail products I've tried but it isn't. It is not weird or unnerving to try this because it is just like any other cream products. I very much like the fact that it does not leave a tacky feeling on the skin or any residue. It does hydrate the skin but not quite enough for people with very dry skin although people with normal to dry skin can definitely benefit from this. With this not providing intense hydration, I don't think this will be a good moisturizer for the winter months except if you have normal to combination skin type during those months.

With all of these said, I give this product a 4/5.

iSOi Bulgarian Rose Pore Tightening Tonic Essence Review

Quite a generous amount of essence is in this iSOi Bulgarian Rose Pore Tightening Tonic Essence that claims to "Make Your Pore Skinny." I haven't had much experience with iSOi except for the Bulgarian Rose Blemish Care Serum which I do quite like for eliminating redness on my skin - not so much for blemish care since my skin isn't acne prone and I couldn't quite attest to it's claims. I'm really excited about this Pore Tightening Tonic Essence since it's supposed to make your pores smaller and to be honest, I really have large pores.

The product comes in the white box with pale green trimming which I believe is the color code for the Pore Tightening line. The bottle itself is very pretty and is very similar to the Blemish Care Serum - it's a green frosted glass bottle with a silver top cap. Green is one of my favorite colors so just seeing this bottle made me even more excited about trying out this product.

Everything written in the box except for the name of the product and the brand is in Hangul so I had to look up the ingredients for this. It is mostly made of Bulgarian Rose oil, witch hazel, apple, lemon and grape fruit acids. This is especially formulated to remove dirt from the pores, minimize skin troubles, controls excess sebum and minimize pores. It is recommended for people who have oily and sensitive skin.

To use this product, it is recommended to pour the essence into a cotton pad and sweep it from the inside to outside of the skin. Personally, I like to pour a small amount of the essence onto the palm of my hand and pat it on my face rather than using a cotton pad mainly because I feel like the cotton pad absorbs a lot of the product more than my skin. Since it is a tonic essence, I see where they are going with using a cotton pad - to remove excess makeup that is left after cleansing. This will also clean and firm the lips so sweeping a cotton pad with the tonic essence on the lips would also remove dead skin cells.

The texture of this product is watery with a little bit of slip to it, reminding me of the MyPu Hyalu Water Volume Snail Gel Cream, but definitely more watery. It feels refreshing and light on the skin and it absorbs quickly too - similar also to the Bulgarian Rose Blemish Care Serum. Since it is such a lightweight product, I have been using this prior to makeup application as a toner, moisturizer and primer in one. It did pretty well underneath my makeup since it also has sebum control.

Probably the thing I really like about this product is it's scent. It has a very light and fresh scent to it that is very refreshing and just makes me look forward to using it. But alas, it doesn't really make my pore skinny. I have been trying this product out for weeks and my pores are still large. I am close to giving up on the quest of finding a product that would significantly minimize my pores but to no avail. I've tried a lot of products from masks, to toners, serums, etc., and all that they would do is give me temporary pore minimization which lasts for a couple of hours, even a day.

Before I forget, the Bulgarian Rose Pore Tightening Tonic Essence is actually the 2nd step on the 5 step Pore Tightening line. The Bulgarian Rose Pore Tightening Line from iSOi consist of (1) Oil Control Pink Pack, (2) Pore Tightening Tonic Essence, (3) Pore Tightening Control Serum, (4) Pore Tightening Program, and (5) Pore Tightening Fresh Gel Cream.
