Caolion Pore Original Pack Review & Update

Problems with nasty, big pores? Well, say hello to Caolion Pore Original Pack, a calming and cooling wash-off mask that minimizes pores.

I was skeptical about this product at first since I have tried a lot of pore minimizing products and though some works, the effect is only temporary.

Housed in a dark green jar (almost black) with yellow print, the packaging is simple but uniquely adorable. The box says "Where is Pore?" on the top flap and this really gets a consumer's attention! Great marketing strategy! Sadly, there's no English translations for product information, ingredients and use but the inside of the box has an illustration of how to use the product - though I have to do a bit of a guessing game there still. The lid of the jar also says "Where is Pore?" in a big yellow font, now I'm really curious as to what this product can do to my face.

As I said, the Caolion Pore Original Pack is a wash off clay mask. It "contains a lot of natural moisturizing ingredients that tightens widened pores without dryness and irritation, and prevents breakouts through controlling hyper-secretion of sebum and dead skin cells. Furthermore, it is a multi-function pack where natural cooling ingredients such as peppermint soothes the skin and tightens widened pores, natural ingredients such as Ceramide, tocopherol, and Chitin Liquid supply enough nutrients to the skin and revives the loose skin to a tight and elastic skin." -Kpopbeautytips

Other ingredients include: Macadamia seed oil, peppermint leaf extracts, lecithin, Cellulose Gum, bentonite, monmorilonite, carboxymethyl chitin, menthol. For those of you who are concerned with parabens and other ingredients that are bad for the skin, you will be happy as this product has NO additives of 7 major chemical substances: Paraben, alcohol, synthetic perfume, artificial coloring, mineral oil, benzophenon, noncomedogenic.

The product is really very clay-like. It is thick and I found it a bit hard to apply evenly on the face. It has a soft peppermint smell and it indeed has a minty, cooling effect on the skin which is really relaxing and just reminds me so much of a spa facial treatment without the repercussions of an empty wallet.

To use the mask, apply it on a clean face, I suggest using it after a thorough cleansing and rinsing with warm water so that the pores are open. Next, apply evenly all over the face, or on the areas you need it. Let it dry for about 15 minutes. In comparison to the Tony Moly Egg Pore Tightening Mask, it doesn't feel as tight when it dries. I like how you still can move your facial muscles a little bit and it isn't irritating at all. Wash off with warm water, while gently massaging the face and pat dry with a clean towel.

I didn't really notice a huge difference by just looking at the mirror after my face mask treatment, however I was fairly surprised at how greatly reduced my pores has become after checking the photos on my camera. As you can see below, before I even put on the mask, my nose was a bit red and I can definitely see a lot of gunk in there. Sorry for the nastiness, but it is indeed not a very pleasant sight to behold. Anyway, taking a look at the after photo, you can see how minimized and clear those pores have become. My skin was slightly tight and supple, and surprisingly moisturized and refreshed. The redness was fairly gone and suffice it to say, I was very happy with the results.

With such great results, I'm left wondering if this will really help keep my pores minimized until the long run. So far, my review will end with me highly recommending this product. It really pleased me to have such amazing results after one use and I will update you readers on how well it will be working with my pores in the weeks and probably months to come.

I have used up the whole jar and it only took 5 applications for the whole face for me to finish the entire jar. If I kept just using it on my nose then it would probably last a lot longer.

As for the results, the excitement on reduced pores was short lived after the 3rd use.  I couldn't see any difference between before and after use photos anymore. The minimized pore effect lasted for about 4 days after each use and then I noticed that they just went back to their original size - large.

Sad to say but the effect of this product is not long lasting.  I need to find a better pore minimizer. I hope you girls have better recommendations.

Ur Made Up Face 17 | Cindy Y.

Lovelies! Our featured blogger is Cindy! You might be wondering why I have the initial of her last name on top, it's because I have another featured blogger named Cindy for next week too! What coincidence!

I asked Cindy to be featured for UMUF via instagram so I was really excited when she said yes to it! Without further ado, here's Cindy!

Hi everyone!!~ I'm Cindy and my online persona is ChocoKittieHK. I have a blog called ChocoKittieHK Holidays and I'm also on Instagram.

I'm a full time college student majoring in History with an emphasis on East Asia, who also happens to have a passion for makeup, fashion and anything cute <3 One of my favorite things to do when I've got spare time (besides going on dates with my Tubbie ;3) is to read novels with my cuddly-bunches Wanpo (my puppy) on my lap. So if you ever want to sit down and have coffee while discussing the Opium War or Meiji Restoration, or talk about the conspiracies and unorthodox theories in your latest mystery novel, I'm your girl ;]

When I do my makeup, it's so cute because my puppy follows me EVERYWHERE. So I've got this shelf/dresser that I have my makeup products on at my apartment at college and a full length mirror that's about 4 feet away. I walk back and forth from the makeup to the mirror, and my puppy is at my heels for the whole entire duration. It's sooooooo adorable I just can't handle it sometimes. And when I'm finished, I pick him up and we smile at the mirror together. SO I guess when I do my makeup, I spend much of the time concentrating on not accidentally stepping on/tripping over him :3

Usually on school days or casual days, I like to just do eyeliner and get out of the door. But on special days when my Tubbie and I have planned an extra special date or when I know I will be taking pictures, I like to add a little more to the look with falsies and light blush.

These are the products that I use when I do my makeup. I didn't use all of them in my look, but I really use them interchangeably. Like the eyeliners and the primers. They're all very good products that I've used for years (except the Becca primer, which is a sample that I've been testing).

1. Revlon Tweezers for the false lashes
2. MAC Oil Control Lotion
3. Smashbox Photo Finish Primer
4. Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector
5. Make Up For Ever Mat Velvet + Foundation
6. MAC Studio Fix Foundation Powder Compact
7. Make Up For Ever HD Powder
8. MAC Pro Longwear Concealer
9. CanMake Blush
10. L'Oreal Lineur Intense Eyeliner
11. Stila Stay All Day Eyeliner

Although I really have a few, I will have to say the most important beauty product to me are my contacts. I always go back to wearing my GEO Super Nudy lenses in Grey. Not only are mine prescription, but they really enhance the eyes in photos and give me my desired look.

Thanks to everyone who read this and hope you enjoyed this post!!
And of course, a very big thanks to the gorgeous Joanne for allowing me to collaborate with UrMadeUpFace <3

Spring 2014: Simple Pinks Makeup Look

Hi ladies, today's makeup look is so simple and easy. I believe this is one of the easiest makeup look I've done since I started this blog yet it is still bright and fresh very spring appropriate.  All you really need is a bright colored eyeliner of your choice (mine is pink) and a pink blush.

Ok let's get started!

  • Lioele BB Cream - Since I'm going for a more natural look, I'm using a BB cream. For those who wants a more full coverage, feel free to use a foundation. I'm not using a concealer either, just adding a second layer under my eyes to hide those nasty dark circles.
  • NYC Sunny Bronzer - Lightly contour. You can actually skip this step but I just needed a little bit of defining so I added this step.
  • NYX Powder Blush in Rose Garden - Apply this blush right on the apples of the cheeks for a nice flush as well to Really bring out those cheeks.
  • MAC lipstick in Sunny Seoul - Use any pink lipstick of your choice.

Lioele Auto Eyebrow in Natural Brown

  • Maybelline Eyestudio Quad in Sunset Seduction - Use the lightest shadow to highlight the inner corner of the eyes as well as the inner part of the lower lash line. This opens and brightens the eyes and also gives emphasis on the aegyo sal. Also take the darkest brown shadow and apply it on the outer corner of the bottom lash line just to balance the eyes. Apply peach shade shadow lightly all over the lids for a wash of color.
  • Tony Moly Perfect Eyes Waterproof Liner - Using a pink liquid liner, (you may use other colored liner if you want), apply a thick line of this colored liquid liner on your upper lash line.
  • Graymelin Control Sharp Liner Waterproof in Black - Apply a thinner line as close to the upper lash line. Make sure that the colored liner peeks through.
  • Milani Liquif'Eye Metallic Eye a liner apencil - Tightline.
  • Maybelline Colossal Cat Eyes Waterproof Mascara - Curl lashes and apply lashes on the upper and lower lashes.

BRTC Jasmine 3D Moist Pact Review

Months ago, on my very first BNT Beauty Box I received the Jasmine 3D Whipping Essence which gave me such amazing results when I first tried it out. I received a couple more products from the same brand but not from the same line so imagine how excited I was when I saw the BRTC Jasmine 3D Moist Pact on my BNT Beauty Box this month!

The Jasmine Moist System is turns "dry and dull skin moist and lively with aromatic flower ingredients from jasmine."
3 Functions of the Jasmine Moist System
  1. Balance care
  2. Wrinkle improvement
  3.  Intensive moisturizing
The Jasmine 3D Moist Pact is a pressed powder which allows people with dry skin to retain moisture without it being cakey and drying out the skin, hence it being a "Moist Pact."

With my skin being fairly dry, I found myself a great candidate to try it out. Consistent with the other BRTC Jasmine 3D line, it comes in a lovely purple packaging. The compact has a mirror and sponge powder puff applicator included, great for on the go. It also has a plastic cover inside the pact to separate the mirror and the powder and also holds the sponge. I find this very appealing since it prevents powder to go all over the mirror and for a person that is OCD when it comes to dirty surfaces and mirror, this is really great.

The Jasmine 3D Moist Pact is a finely milled powder and I believe it only comes in one shade, which is sort of a bummer since it is really light and people with darker skin tones will not be able to use this. I have a medium skin tone (NC25) and I feel like this is a shade or two lighter than my actual skin color. Using the sponge powder puff that it comes with, it gives more coverage though I must say for my skin tone, it is definitely much lighter. With the puff, I also find that application is looks and feels heavy and cakey so I have been applying this with a fluffy, synthetic powder brush and this gives a more diffused and natural look.

Used alone, no foundation/BB Cream

Used on top of BB Cream with light blush

I am quite surprised at the result I got with this powder. It is very similar to the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural that I absolutely love. In fact, because it is compact, it is great to bring on your everyday bag for touch up. Though it may appear a bit much using the sponge applicator, I find that it's not really to severe and it eventually sinks into the skin nicely, just give it about 5-10 minutes. It stands true to its claims that it is good for dry skin because I usually get dry patches on certain areas of my face whenever I use some powders but this one doesn't make my face feel dry at all nor were there any dry patches observed. It also doesn't feel heavy even when used on top of foundation.

Overall, this is a great product and I highly recommend it for anyone who has dry skin and has problems with face powders. It can definitely be used alone or on top of foundation or BB Cream depending on how much coverage you want.

Ur Made Up Face 16 | Jill

Hello ladies! I'm super excited about today's Ur Made Up Face episode because I'm featuring my BFF, Jill!

We met almost 3 years ago through our blogs and we started sending out emails and eventually we got to texting and calling each other almost everyday. We talk about a lot of things and share everything to each other. She is one of the few friends I have here in the US and even if we live in different areas (West Coast & East Coast!) we maintain that special bond of friendship. We hope to meet each other in person someday! ^^

So here is Jill's Ur Made Up Face! ^_~

Hi there!
My name is Jill
A makeup-loving, Korea-holic, 20 year old. Like some of you girls, I too like to play around with makeup and feel a little pretty.
I’m from the blog LipstickTraces. My blog has been on a Hiatus but I will be coming back to blog very soon (Promise) so please keep a look out.

Joanne is a very very dear friend of mine :)
We also met through our blogs a few years ago and now we talk everyday!
She invited me to be part of her Ur Made Up Face series and I had so much fun doing this.
I hope you will like how my “Made Up Face” turned out.

Listening to music is a must while doing makeup!!
While putting on makeup and taking pictures for this post, I was blasting and singing along to some awesome female vocals from Lorde’s Pure Heroine album and 2NE1’s new album CRUSH. And also twerking to CL’s MTBD (just kidding).

I created this look because of my love for Orange lipstick.
I used only 2 shades of eye shadow that will not over-power the bright pop of orange lipstick.
A light shimmery tan and a dark brown that also doubles as a liner creating a very soft look for the eyes.

Orange lipstick might sound scary but try it out, like all colors it has warm and cool undertones that will match whatever skin tone you have, just find the perfect shade.
While watching a Korean beauty talk show they talked about how orange is the new pink!
Spring just arrived and a pop of color is definitely a must.

Products used:

Face:   Banila Co. Prime Primer (hydrating)
    Etude House Baby Choux Base
Etude House Cotton Fit BB Cream
    Etude House Be Clear Pact

Cheeks: Etude House Cupcake All Over Color in OR202

Eyes: Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette
    Colors Suspect and Busted
    L'oreal Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara

Lips: Maybelline Color Whisper in Orange Attitude

Lastly a product I can’t live without~
Never have I thought I would ever care for primer. I don’t have large pores, I didn’t know i would need it at all. I really thought it was a product that you buy just because.
Now I can’t live my Banila Co. Prime Primer! It makes a huge difference prepping my dry flaky skin for makeup and helping it last a long time without melting off my face. I suggest you try adding primer if you already haven’t.

This was my Ur Made Up Face
Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed it!

Stylenanda 3CE Under Eye Flash in #6 African Sunset Review

It wasn't a surprise for me, that I fell in love with yet again another Stylenanda 3CE product and this time it's their Under Eye Flash.

So what is an Under Eye Flash? It is basically an eyeliner that according to Stylenanda, "the name eye flash is given to this under-eye makeup for it's soft colors retain and and brighten up the eyes and adds depts for a gorgeous appearance." It is a liner which is waterproof, has a rich, opaque color and has a very creamy texture.

The Under Eye Flash line has 6 shades:  #1 Romanticism, #2 Pitter Patter, #3Lovable, #4 Brown Sugar, #5 Hazzy Mocha and #6 African Sunset. The lighter shades are great for creating that bright inner eye corner and aegyo sal that Koreans are very fond of. Aegyo sal is that puffy, under eye skin that Korean women find beautiful and youthful looking by brightening the eyes.

Stylenanda's packaging is always so sleek and chic that it appeals to me and perhaps to most of the consumers. The eyeliner is retractable so it's great because I won't need to sharpen it. All you need to do is twist the colored base.

Out of the 6 shades, I was sent #6 African Sunset which is a burgundy-brown shade. It is very pigmented and just as the product description says, it's really creamy. This product is so easy to work with and because of it's texture, it doesn't tug on the eyes at all. It is a waterproof product but it does take a bit of time to set so it's perfect if you want to smudge and blend it out. Working it on the waterline is fantastic too because it doesn't smudge to your bottom lash line if you just want it focused on the waterline.

I love how this looks smudged out using it as a cream shadow and eyeliner in one. I paired it with a gold shadow on the inner half of my lid and on the inner corner of my eyes and it instantly gives you a bright eye look.

This is how it looks when used only on the waterline. On the bottom lash line I have a matte brown shadow, and as you can see it did create a brighter look as well.

The Stylenanda 3CE Under Eye Flash retails for $12.11 on the Stylenanda website, and I believe that the price point is pretty fair for the quality of product that you get. The only thing about this that a buyer must note is that it is shorter than most eyeliners in the market so you do get a smaller amount of product but this will still last you quite a long time. Oh, and before I forget, Stylenanda 3CE products are also available in the US through Urban Outfitters!

I'm giving this product ♥♥♥♥♥/5!

Spring 2014: Emerald Green Pop Makeup Look

Am I the only who's excited for spring? I've haven't been able to wear spring colored clothes yet but I'm loving that subtle pop of colors in my makeup look.

Today's featured makeup is from Maybelline and it's the Eyestudio Quad in Irresistibly Ivy. All the shadows for the eyes are from the quad.

  • Maybelline Fit Foundation in 220
  • Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser in Medium
  • Rimmel Stay Matte Translucent Powder
  • Nars Bronzer in Laguna
  • NARS Blush in Mistinguette
  • 3CE Lip Lacquer in Pink Boom
Wet n Wild Brow Kit

  • Urban Decay Primer Potion Original - Apply all over the lids
  • Maybelline Eyestudio Quad in Irresistibly Ivy
    •  Apply the golden shade (2nd shadow) all over the lids, blend out all harsh lines. Focus the color on the lids, do not bring it above the crease.
    • Apply the copper shadow (4th shadow) on the outer half of the bottom lash line using the sponge tip applicator.
    • With the other side of the sponge tip, take the emarald green shade (3rd shadow) and apply it on the inner half of the bottom lash line.
    • Take the lightest shade with the other end of the sponge tip applicator or with your finger, place it on the inner corner of the eye.
  • Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Pencil in Zero - Apply on the upper and lower waterline.
  • Graymelin Control Sharp Liner Waterproof Black - Line the upper lash line and wing out as you like.
  • Maybelline Volum' Express Waterproof Colossal Cat Eyes Mascara - curl the lashes and apply mascara

An the look is done! As simple as that!

I hope you enjoy this look and have fun with colors too! If a colorful lid is not really in your zone, then adding a bright pop of color to the bottom lash line might just do the trick. ^^

Always stay pretty!
