Disney's Frozen Elsa Makeup Inspired Look

I am so excited for today's makeup look because I'm doing an inspired look from Disney's latest animated movie, Frozen! I watched the movie Thanksgiving weekend with my mom and niece and ever since I've been wanting to do a makeup look based on the Snow Queen, Elsa. My 5 year old niece, Desiree, couldn't get over the movie and asked for everything Frozen related for Christmas. I actually bought her the Elsa costume as well as an Elsa and Anna sleepwear and my mom bought her a very pretty Anna costume too.

Let's head on to the makeup before I continue babbling on about other stuff. I would just like to say that this look is bit of a toned down just because I wanted this to be more wearable and because I don't have that much lid space when I open my eyes for the purple and cranberry shades to show up. ^^

  • Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation in Medium Beige - I laid on a foundation that is a shade lighter than my actual skin tone for a brighter and fairer skin that looks close to Elsa's.
  • Kat Von D Lock It Tattoo Concealer in Medium 28 - Covering up those dark circles with concealer.
  • NYX Powder Blush in Bourgeois Pig - With an angled brush, dust on a bright pink blush for that wind-blown cheek color.
  • MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Blonde - For a more frosty look, apply a peachy-pink highlighter on the tops of the cheeks and the nose.
Wet n Wild Brow Kit - I'm just lightly filling in my brows with the light shade in the kit.

  • For eyes, I used the Urban Decay Primer Potion in Original as my eyeshadow primer and then I used NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk all over the lid, blending it out with my finger. I'm using this white pencil as a base for a more vibrant color pay-off.

  1. Apply a vibrant purple shade all over the lids, either matte or a satin finish, packing on the color using a flat shader brush. Bring this shade on the lower lash line with the tip of the same shadow brush.
  2. Mixing a purple and fuchsia shade, apply to the inner and outer part of the lids (as shown in the photo above). This will add dimension to the eyes.
  3. Apply a dark brown shade or even a charcoal colored shadow to the crease area to define the eyes using a crease brush.
  4. Apply a brown shade with red undertones - I'm using a light warm brown shade for this one. You can use a brick colored shadow or a cranberry shade to make it exactly as Elsa's. Blend out everything seamlessly with a blending brush.
  5. Apply a pink, frosty shadow in the middle of the lids with a flat brush or your finger.
  6. Lastly, place a matte, nude shade on the brow bone for a highlight.
  •  Line the eyes with a liquid liner (Urban Decay 24/7 Waterproof Liner in Perversion) thickly, apply a black liner to the upper and lower waterline (NYX Glide On Pencil in Jet Black)
  • Curl lashes, apply mascara (Maybelline Colossal Volum' Express Mascara Waterproof) and falsies (Ardell Natural Wispies)

  • Lime Crime Lipstick in Retrofuturist - Apply a berry shade of lipstick. This is a nice red lipstick but once you blot it out it will leave a nice berry stain on the lips.

Just braid the hair to the side and you can get Elsa's look!

And here's my niece, Desiree, channeling Elsa! I did her makeup too but only lightly. ^^

I hope you like this! If you haven't watched the movie yet, you definitely should!

Oh, and Happy New Year! There's more to come for Urhappybunnie in 2014 so I hope you stay with me next year! I'm gonna be putting up a post on the first or the second so stay tuned. I'll also get back to your comments once I get more free time.

Love you ladies! Always stay pretty! ^^

Ur Made Up Face 4 | Jasmine

It's the fourth installment of Ur Made Up Face! I can't believe that it's already been 4 weeks since I started this series and I'm just happy that a lot of bloggers decided to join in share their made up faces. :)

Today, we have Jasmine from The Happy Sloths. I hope you enjoy reading her post! ^^

Hello everyone, my name is Jasmine and I am the author of a Canadian beauty/nail blog called “The Happy Sloths”. I am super honored to be invited by Joanne to do this fun guest blogger series. I am currently a forth year Biology and Psychology university student. Aside from taking pictures, swatching and reviewing make up and nail polish, I also love to bike, bake, paint, and watch movies in my free time, that is if I get any, what with school and blogging taking up most of my free time.

My day to day makeup varies, sometime I go for a natural look, nothing more than mascara and concealer but other days I like to vamp it up a bit with winged eyes and dark lips. But for the look I am showing you today, I picked something in between, natural eyes and bold lips.
When I do my makeup in the morning, I like to have YouTube videos playing in the back ground, usually clips from talk shows like Jimmy Fallon or Graham Norton, I love watching hilarious celebrity interviews.
Here’s what I used to achieve the look:
  1. For my base, I used Shu Uemura Face Architect Smooth Fit Fluid Foundation. I need some good coverage as it has been exam season and my skin is breaking out quite a bit around my jaw line.
  2. For my eyes, I used a eyeliner brush and did a natural line near my lash line with “Chocolate Kiss” Stay Put Gel Eyeliner from Mommy Makeup. This stuff is amazing, it lasts the entire day with zero smudging!
  3. I then filled in my brows with a Shiseido Brow Pencil, which I forgot to include in the picture. It is hands down the beauty product I cannot live with and the reason I love it so much is that the color “GY901” is perfect for girls with black hair. It is a soft black/dark grey that doesn’t have any brown in it, which can look very unnatural for black haired girls.
  4. After curling my lashes with my Shu Uemura eyelash curler, I use my favorite mascara called Fairy Drops Platinum Waterproof Mascara . This mascara never ever smudges, it also contains tiny fibers that extends the lashes. The formula is perfect for those with small limp lashes like mine.
  5. After I do my eye makeup, I go in with Mommy Makeup Mommy’s Little Helper Concealer to cover up my under eyes to make myself look more awake.
  6. On to the lips I chose a gorgeous dark red called “Cherry” from Annabelle Cosmetics. This lip color is super moisturizing and pigmented.
  7. For the cheeks, I used my favorite baby pink blush called “Down Boy” from TheBalm. This is the blush I reach for the most because it is just so easy to wear, the color is so natural and it blends so seamlessly into my skin.
  8. To finish up the look, I use my new favorite anti-shine mattifying powder from Mattify Cosmetics. This powder is the best one I tried so far in terms of delaying shine as I have a very oily T-zone
So there you have it, my made up face. This whole look took me about 15 minutes to do and hopefully you enjoyed reading my post, feel free to check out my blog if you enjoy makeup reviews and nail art posts. I want to thank Joanne for inviting me to do this series and I look forward to see more looks from other bloggers! Thank you for reading!
You're welcome Jasmine and thank you for this guest post! ^^
Stay tuned next week  as we start the New Year with another guest blogger!

New Year's Eve Party Look ft. Urban Decay Vice 2 Palette

Hello lovelies! I hope you had a great Christmas and you found my Festive Green Makeup Look helpful for your Christmas party! ^^ I honestly didn't even wear a lot of makeup for Christmas because my 6-month old nephew has been breaking out whenever I give him smooches with my makeup on. Anyway, here's another makeup look that's great for a New Year's Eve party! I'm trying to use up my Urban Decay Vice 2 Palette for my holiday looks so here you go!

  1. Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation in Medium Beige - Apply foundation all over the face using a synthetic kabuki brush for a flawless finish.
  2. Kat Von D Lock It Tattoo Concealer in Medium 28 - Apply to areas that need coverage like under eye circles and blemishes.
  3. Clinique Bronzer in Sunkissed - Apply to the hollows of the cheeks, temples and jaw for a contoured face.
  4. NARS Blush in Orgasm - With a stippling brush, dust over to the back of the cheeks for a slight flush.
  5. Benefit Watts Up - Highlight the high points of the face: tops of the cheeks, bridge of the nose, Cupid's bow, forehead and chin. Since this is a cream product, lightly blend out with your fingers.

Lioele Auto Eyebrow in Natural Brown

Prime the lids with a primer, I'm using the Urban Decay Primer Potion. For the shadows, I'm using shadows from the Urban Decay Vice 2 Palette.

  1. Apply Habit all over the lids up to the brow bone with a blending brush, this would act as brow bone highlight as well as make it easier to blend out the darker shadows that we will be using.
  2. Next, with a blending brush, apply the shade Rewind along the a little above the crease area. This will act as a transition color.
  3. With the shade Smokeout, which is a taupe-black, apply it along the outer V of your lid with a pencil brush, lightly feathering it inwards.
  4. With the same pencil brush, apply the Lovesick, on the crease area, bringing it towards the inner portion of the eye. Use the blending brush that you used to apply Rewind with to blend the shadows together for a seamless look.
  5. Next, using a flat shader brush, pick up the color Shellshock, a highly pigmented silver, and pat it on the middle and inner portion of the lid as well as the inner corner of the eye for a highlight.
  6. With an angled brush or the tip of a flat shader brush, apply Betrayal along the bottom lash line.
  7. With the same brush, take Voodoo, which is a deeper purple, and apply it on the outer half of the lower lash line blending it in with Betrayal
  8. Last step is optional, if you want some more glitter, you can add some purple glitter along the inner third of the lower lash line (NYX Candy Glitter Liner 14 Purple

  • Apply eyeliner on the upper and lower waterline, NYX Glide On Pencil in Jet Black
  • Line the upper lash line with a liquid or pen liner (Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner Black)
  • Curl lashes and apply mascara or apply falsies (Ardell 120 Demi)

Wet n Wild Megalast Lipstick in 903C Just Peachy

Hope you guys enjoyed this look! This is my first time doing an edited step by step photo tutorial so let me know what you think of it. I might start doing this for future tutorials. :)

Always stay pretty! ^^

Hyorin One Way Love MV Inspired Makeup Look

One of my favorite Kpop group is SISTAR and the main vocal, Hyorin is particularly my bias. She is a powerhouse singer; she can hit those high notes and low notes, and she is sexy. I've seen a lot of hate comments on her looks that she is ugly, but Hyorin is beautiful in her own way and definitely not ugly!

Anyway, she came out with her solo debut and she is promoting two songs as of the moment, Lonely and One Way Love. Today I'm gonna try and recreate her look from her One Way Love MV.

My eyes and face shape is so different from Hyorin so this won't exactly look identical but hopefully it will be similar enough.

This post goes out to Mizu of Mizu's World who requested that I do a tutorial on this! ^^ :)

  • Covergirl Outlast Stay Foundation in Medium Beige
  • Kat Von D Lock It Tattoo Concealer in Medium 28
  • Rimmel Natural Bronzer in Sun Bronze - just lightly contour the cheekbones and the temple

  • Lioele Auto Eyebrow in Natural Brown
  •  Apply a black base on the eyelids, I'm using NYX Glide on Pencil in Jet Black all over the lid and lightly blending out the edges with my finger
  • With a flat brush, pat on Crave from UD Naked Basics to the outer corner of the lid and then taking a clean blending brush, blend the harsh lines
  • Apply Smog from UD N1 to the inner half of the lid and with the same clean blending brush, blend together Crave and Smog.
  • With the tip of the flat shadow brush, apply Smog under the lower lash line.
  • Apply W.O.S. underneath the brows for a brow bone highlight.
  • Apply a brown or black liner along the rim of the eye, NYX Glide On Liner in Brown Perfection
  • Curl the lashes and apply natural looking false lashes, Salon Perfect #53.

  • Wet n Wild Mega Last Lipstick in 901D Think Pink - apply on the outer part of the lips
  • Glam Works Strawberry Red Lip and Cheek Tint - apply on the center of the lips and blend out with your finger to create a gradient lip

Here's the final look!

I hope you enjoyed this simple recreation of Hyorin's look. I'll leave you guys with her music video for One Way Love (I think this song is very catchy but doesn't really showcase her powerful voice but I really like it). ^^

Merry Christmas everybody! I'll have another post up on the 26th! See you then! ^^

In Need of a Miracurl? Giveaway!

NailPolishCanada has sent me some juicy info on a Miracurlous Christmas Giveaway! ^^  They are giving away Babyliss Miracurl (I've been dying to try this one out) and it's so easy to join! I also joined in this giveaway in hope that I will be winning one of the 3 they're giving away. Anyway... scroll down for more details of the giveaway!

It’s a Christmas Miracurl! - is giving away 3 Babyliss Miracurl’s ($600 value)
Every holiday season millions experience a sense of sadness at the flatness in their life. In an effort to cope some find themselves straining important relationships.
“I know my husband loves me, but another day where I’m running late trying to curl my hair in a mad dash is just a fight waiting to happen”  - Katie B
Could people go without curled hair? They could, but experts agree such a lack of regard and care is sure to result in a coal filled stocking.
“After the economic downturn Santa has had limited resources and he too has to make cuts, it’s not only naughty or nice anymore, but how you present yourself.” noted Mrs. Claus
Today Nail Polish Canada has announced their plans to take a stand and solve this important issue with the Babyliss Miracurl. In just seconds the Miracurl literally sucks your hair right in, curls it, then beeps letting you know it's done.
In order to raise awareness Nail Polish Canada is giving away 3 Babyliss Miracurls, to whoever can convince us they are the most “in need” of one.
“This will impact people’s lives. Together we can make a Christmas Miracurl”
- Nikki Smith, VP Glitter
*This is our favorite pun ever and we’ve been using it around the office for weeks
Simply describe why you or a loved one is in need of a Christmas Miracurl at:
In the spirit of a true Christmas Miracurl the winners will be announced Christmas Day!
Notes about nominations: Feel free to stretch the truth a bit and most importantly have fun.
