Simple Autumn Wearable Makeup Look

I'm currently playing around with the Urban Decay Vice 2 Palette and the shadows included are awesome. I always go for the neutrals so I was really happy that the palette has a row with neutral shades in it including two mattes and the other three with a satin finish.

I also wanted to do a look that is easy and quick but still looks nice and polished, perfect for the office or for a coffee date.

  1. Mixing Graymelin CC Base Cream with my favorite Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation in Medium Beige I applied it with a foundation brush all over my face and applying a second layer concentrating under the eyes to cover up those dark circles.
  2. Contour the cheeks with Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Soft Matte Bronzer included in the Estee Lauder Deluxe All-Over Face Compact.
  3. Apply blush on the apples of the cheeks with #23 Fresh Plum Blush from the same Estee Lauder Compact.

As usual, I'm using the Wet n Wild Brow Kit to fill in my poor sparse brows.

  1.  Apply an eyeshadow primer all over the lid, I'm Using the Urban Decay Primer Potion.
  2. With a clean finger, I'm using this gorgeous rose gold shadow in Toxic, apply it all over the lid and slightly blend it out.
  3. Using the fluffy shadow brush that comes with the Vice 2 palette, I take a little bit of Ambush, and apply it on the outer part of my lid, blending it out and also bring it down to the outer half of my lower lash line.
  4. Highlight the inner corner of the eyes using the shadow in Dope which is a nice champagne color with a satin finish.
  5. With another clean finger, sweep Habit underneath the brows for a matte brow bone highlight.
  6. Tightline the eyes, I'm using Sumita Beauty Suman Contrast Eye Pencil in Black. Line the upper lash line with this as well and softly smooth it out with an angled brush, winging it out a little bit and dragging it down to the outer part of the lower lash line.
  7. Curl the lashes and apply mascara (Maybelline Volum' Express Colossal Mascara Waterproof) to finish the look!

I used a bright pink lippie which is Milani Color Statement Lipstick in Hot Pink Rage. Well, you can use any shade of lipstick for this look since it's pretty neutral.

And that's it!  I hope you ladies like this look and I'm definitely coming up with more looks with the Vice 2 palette along with a review in the coming weeks. :)

Always stay pretty!

Quick Review: Milani Color Statement Lipstick in Hot Pink Rage

Two weeks ago, Milani Cosmetics was having their #fallessentials giveaway on Twitter and I was so lucky to be one of the winners. I have no idea what the other prizes was for the giveaways because I heard that it was different each day they held the giveaway but I got mine, a week after the giveaway and it was a Milani Color Statement Lipstick in Hot Pink Rage.

I was so excited when I got this in the mail because I have absolutely no idea what the prize was but I was really very happy with it! I can't ever wear a light pink lip but I really rock bright pink lips better. I have the MAC Viva Glam Nicki and the 3CE Lip Lacquer in Pink Boom to name a few. I always end up toning them a little bit down but not to the extent that it is a pale pink.

Anyway, this lipstick is highly pigmented. It is a little bit warmer than the 3CE Lip Lacquer in Pink Boom. It smells wonderful, like watermelons! It is definitely HOT as the name says. It glides on smoothly although it's a matte finish. It can be drying after a few hours of wear. After 2 hours and having a cup of coffee, I found out that the lipstick sticks to the fine lines and cracks of my lips. Definitely not a good lipstick for chapped and dry lips this winter.

Packaging-wise it is very nice and expensive looking - drugstore brands are coming out with great packaging and amazing products nowadays.

I give this lippie a 3.5 out of 5. I love matte lipsticks but there are definitely some matte lipsticks out there that are not as drying and has a better formula than this one. Awesome shade but the formula can be a little bit better.

Photos were taken by my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 camera. Let me guys know what you think of the quality of the photos since I might be taking more photos with it for Quick Reviews. :)

BRTC: Jasmine 3D Whipping Essence Review

Ever tried a serum and never got results after using for awhile? Well, this product right here, sent to me by BNTNews International was included in my beauty box, gave me amazing results since the first day I started using it.

The Jasmine 3D Whipping Essence is part of the Jasmine Moist System Line released by Bio Remedies Therapeutic Cosmetics (BRTC).

The Jasmine Moist System is turns "dry and dull skin moist and lively with aromatic flower ingredients from jasmine."

3 Functions of the Jasmine Moist System
  1. Balance care
  2. Wrinkle improvement
  3.  Intensive moisturizing

The BRTC Jasmine 3D Whipping Essence is a dual-layered whipped serum for soft skin: "This gentle serum sans synthetic emulsions and parabens adds a nice dewy glow to your skin for a healthy look; skin-affinitive natural oils and emulsifiers create a protective barrier and increase skin's moisture retaining ability for a long-lasting comfort and softness."

Main Ingredients:
  • KFDA (Korean Food and Drug Administration) Notified Functional Ingredients - functional ingredients for wrinkle improvement listed in KFDA notification for its safety and effectiveness
  • Blue Phyto Complex - proprietary ingredient containing ECOCERT-certified lavender water; it alleviates skin stress, prevents skin dryness and itchiness, and soften rough scaly skin for the health of your skin.
  • Purple Vigor Complex - proprietary ingredient infused with the energy of purple plants tat combat and repair sun damage by aging and environmental contaminants for soft youthful skin.

The packaging is very pretty - purple ombre bottle, which I'm very fond of since I really love the purple color. It's heavy, feels and looks high end. This is a full-sized bottle that contains 30mL of product.

The cap twists off and is attached to a glass dropper that dispenses the product. It is perfect for controlling the amount of product to be used however there is an issue of spilling the product by accident since it is an open top.

Since this a dual-layered serum and is basically oil and water, you should shake the bottle to mix them together before application to clean skin. Using 5 drops of the product, I dispense a drop at a time on my fingers and pat it dry on my clean face.

This product is amazing! I have previously been using a serum but since I ran out a month or two ago I didn't purchase another one. I have adjusted my night time skin care routine to fully test out this product. I usually wash my face, spritz toner over my face and put a moisturizing cream and eye cream.

On the first two nights of using it, I removed a few steps in my routine just to see how it works and how it fares - applying the Jasmine 3D Whipping Essence right after washing my face and eliminating the toner and moisturizer application. Unlike other serums which are thicker in consistency, this product is very watery and literally feels like water once applied to the skin. It doesn't feel like you put anything on your skin except water. The jasmine scent smells heavenly too. It wasn't strong and too floral, it's just a subtle calming scent. This serum just sinks right into the skin. Giving it a few minutes to settle into my skin, I felt it really hydrating my skin. During night time, my skin really dries up and I tried a lot of moisturizers before settling for a moisturizing cream which is thicker in consistency and leaves my skin feeling hydrated throughout the night. The Jasmine 3D Whipping Essence does more to my skin than most moisturizers do. The morning after I used this product it made my skin look a lot brighter. After the second night of just using this product as a substitute for a moisturizer I found out that though really hydrating, it is not enough for my dry skin though it is a huge help. The second morning after using the product, though my skin looked fresher than it usually does when I wake up, my skin was so dry. I decided to just incorporate the serum into my old skin care routine - wash my face, spritz my beloved LUSH Tea Tree Toner, letting it sink for a minute, apply the Jasmine 3D Whipping Serum, apply eye cream and leaving both alone for a good 30 minutes and then apply my Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream for maximum skin hydration.

The results are amazing and I'm happy to say that this routine works quite well for me since I started a week ago. Even with just a bare face I get comments from family members and friends that my skin looks brighter and healthier. I haven't broken out either which was quite a surprise because it's that time of the month where I should be having some hormonal breakouts.

I have really been enjoying this product as part of my routine and will continue to do so until I run out of it. Would I repurchase it? Most likely. I don't know exactly how much this product is because I have seen various prices online. In eBay, Korean sellers price it between $20-30 but I have also seen that it is sold in Amazon for $90! Ninety dollars is a lot if you ask me, and I'm not sure if I would like to invest that much in this product; it is almost the same price of high end brand serums like Lancome Genefique, which retails for $82 for the same amount of product. I would have to ask how much this really costs and if it is something between the 20-30 dollar mark I would certainly buy this.

I hope you enjoyed this review of mine, you can also go ahead check out Kim's (another BNTGirl) take on this product. :)

Holiday Glam Look

The holidays are coming up and I have this beautiful glam makeup using burgundy and purple shadows. It is just a fun look that is suitable for parties these holidays.

Let's quickly get on with the makeup!

Verikos Ultra Matte Velvet Primer - It's a must to use a primer so your makeup last all night if you wear this look for a party. If it's a party you're going to, you're gonna take a lot of pictures so it's great to stay matte the entire night and not oily. I just used my clean fingers to apply is all over my face.
Graymelin CC Base Cream - This will give the face a nice and dewy look, but since this product makes me a little bit oily, to prevent that I used a matte primer and also apply this lightly on my cheeks and around my nose where there's usually redness. This just helps correct the redness.
Maybelline Fit Me Foundation in 220 Natural Beige - I'm currently loving this foundation, it gives a nice flawless look that has medium coverage. Using my Sigma F84 Angled Kabuki to apply and blend out the foundation.

NARS Stick Concealer in Ginger - Using this for color correction, I applied it underneath my eye and blended it out using a Sigma E40 Blending Brush.
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle in Medium - applying it underneath my eyes on top of the NARS concealer, this acts as a concealer and eye brightener. I used a Sigma F60 Foundation Brush to blend it.
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Medium Plus - Set the makeup with a nice powder for long lasting makeup and oil control.
Clinique Bronzer in Sunkissed - Using an e.l.f. Studio Powder Blush I applied this bronzer to contour my cheeks, temple, jaw and nose.
NYX Powder Blush in Pinched - Not wanting to overpower the eyes, a light dusting of a peachy pink blush usingan angled brush

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft & Gentle - Highlight important features, the bridge of the nose, cheekbones, Cupid's bow, chin and forehead. Just lightly brush the product using another angled brush.

Wet n Wild Brow Kit

Sumita Beauty Suman Contrast Eye Pencil in Black - Using this as a base, apply it all over the lid and blend out the edges with a brush or your fingers before it sets. Also, use this to line the waterline and the outer corner of the lower lash line.
Stylenanda 3CE One Color Shadow in #Saturn  - Using a Sigma E55 Eye Shading brush, pat the shadow on top of the black eyeliner. This will make the shadow appear more vibrant and shimmery. Also, using a small angled brush, place this color in the middle of the bottom lash line.
UD Naked 2 - Blending is key in any smokey look, so using a Sigma E25 Blending brush, blend away the harsh lines made by the base and #Saturn with this eyeshadow.
Charlote Ronson All Eye Need Palette in Angela - Using the black eyeshadow with purple glitters (1), apply this to the outer V of the eyelid, creating the shape that you want, also, bring it to the crease and blend it in. With an angled brush, apply a small amount to the outer corner of the lower lash line and smudge out the black liner you placed there, blending it with the #Saturn. With the rosy plum shadow (2), use this to blend out the black shadow you just made in the crease. Lastly, to highlight the inner corner of the eyes, use a pencil brush and apply the pinky taupe (3) colored shadow.
UD W.O.S. - A matte creme highlight for the brow bone just balances the whole eye since it is shimmery and bold.
Maybelline Master Drama Gel Liner - This is a step that you can definitely skip since this is already such an intense smokey eye but since I'm applying false lashes, I just wanted a black base.
Ardell 120 Demi Lashes - Fluttery lashes that looks natural when your eyes are open are the best lashes for me. I just curled my lashes with my Shiseido lash curler and applied the lashes with a lash glue. I didn't need to add mascara to the lashes since my lashes look full already.

Wet n Wild Lipstick in 905D Smokin' Hot Pink - A muted hot pink lip is just lovely with this look since it doesn't overpower the eyes. I don't look great with a really nude lip for a smokey eye so I'm settling with this one. It is best to keep the lips matte with this look.

Hope you girls like this look! Leave me some love in the comments section and follow me in Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Bloglovin! :)

And check out some of the items sent to me by BNTNews International that I used for this makeup - Verikos Ultra Matte Velvet Primer, Graymelin CC Base Cream and Stylenanda 3CE One Color Shadow in #Saturn.

Always stay pretty!

Graymelin Vintage CC Base Cream Review

I believe most beauty brands have been releasing their own version of BB creams and CC creams. To be honest, I haven't tried a single CC cream since I'm not too interested in it. However, I was excited to try this Graymelin CC Base Cream that was included in my BNT Beauty Box sent by BNTNews International.

As I said in my review of the Verikos Ultra Matte Velvet Primer, Korean packaging now includes English descriptions of the product. According to the product description, it is "formulated to refine uneven skin tone and enhance skin's natural beauty color and for intensive skin care this unique formula provides plenty of moisture and nourishment to leave skin hydrated for smoother and clear looking skin as well  as help dull skin bright and radiant that will bring out your natural beauty."

This CC Base Cream also features:
  1. CC means "color correction" that brings out natural balance of skin tone for a more youthful and glowing complexion.
  2. It is kind of BB cream that is designed to help makeup appear natural which will bring out a more natural beauty.
  3. Contain micro color capsule to reveal a clear and healthy complexion and it is free of paraben, talc, and mineral oil that be used for all skin type without any skin trouble.

The packaging of this product is quite simple but looks high end to me. The squeeze tube makes it easy to dispense just as much product as you want so it's perfect.

Sorry ladies, been having problems with taking hand swatches lately... the picture just turns out so weird but I'm glad it didn't affect the color of the product in the photos

The product itself has a white base, and as it said in the description, it contains micro color capsule that is a pigment that will match the skin color and even out the skin tone once blended into the skin. It is thick in consistency unlike most BB creams. I found out after trying this product for a week that it is a little bit hard for me to blend it out, probably because I have drier skin. Once blended out, it matches the skin very well, evened out my redness and gave me a brighter and healthy looking skin.

This is quite a good product to keep the skin hydrated; even topped or mixed with a foundation, this will give the skin a dewy finish which I quite like. However, this product makes you oily throughout the day and I'm not really down with that. Since I have normal to dry skin, I usually only get a little bit of oil in the T-zone but this product makes my whole face oily.

You can definitely see that it is very moisturizing and gave me a dewy look
If like me you have dry skin and experience dry patches from time to time, it is best to exfoliate well since I find that it really clings on to these dry, flaky skin and is just unflattering. It is not noticeable in the photo above, but it clung on around my nose where there was a little bit of dryness.

If you have a really good skin to start with, you can definitely walk out the door with just this product on. If you want a little more coverage, you can mix your foundation.. It is a pretty good product especially if you have extremely dry skin and rarely get oily. For people with oily skin, it is better to lightly dust this product with a powder.

I do like this product, though I have to be careful in using it. I read Carina's (a fellow BNTGirl) review on this particular product as well and she has a different experience with it. You can go and check out her review for comparison and let me know what you think. :) I believe that every product works differently on everybody that's why it's good to read and watch product reviews so we'll know what product will work out for us.

Verikos Ultra Matte Velvet Primer Review

I am the type of person that once I have my makeup on, I want it to stay on for the entire day without having any drastic issues. Without a primer, I definitely would see fading of my face makeup in about 4 hours. With a primer on it would last for more than 12 hours. I have been using the Benefit Porefessional for the past year and it hasn't failed in keeping my makeup last all day long - through sweat and oil. I like the Benefit Porefessional so much that I never ventured to buy a full sized face primer aside from it. I would try samples of other brands but never really go and buy the thing even after liking it.

I guess it was high time to have a little change and try on something new when it comes to face primers; luckily enough, a primer - the Verikos Ultra Matte Velvet Primer - was included in this month's BNT Beauty Box sent by BNTNews International.

Most Korean packaging nowadays include English translations for product descriptions and I'm quite glad they did since I don't have to go and spend a lot of time googling for product information. The Verikos Ultra Matte Velvet Primer boasts to give pore coverage, sebum control and make makeup last for up to 10 hours. According to the description provided, "Porous powder gives light and silky texture while absorbng excessive sebum from the skin. The oil-free primer tones the skin texture and corrects the skin ton without causing irritation." The primer has this Sebum Control System which "contains a lot of sebum control powder to effectively control sebum and therefore help the makeup stay put for a long time for you to maintain refreshed look until the afternoon."

The product also contains Vitamin A & E which helps remove free radicals that are harmful for the skin. These vitamins will make the skin tone healthier and clearer while also giving protection from damage and keep the moisture locked in. This product contains no paraben, talc, artificial dyes, synthetic perfume, mineral oil and alcohol.

Another photo that made my hand look so weird. So sorry. It's either my camera or my editor. :( I will try to fix this soon so you guys will see better quality photos.
The product in this photo is actually the same color as it is in real life.

For the most part I'm actually happy and impressed with this product. It actually reminded me of Porefessional from the color, texture and wear. The Verikos Primer has a tint to it that actually evens out the skin tone. If put side by side the Verikos has a grayish undertone (which is very similar to most Korean BB creams) while the Porefessional has a slight pink undertone. They both blended pretty well into the skin and there wasn't any difference between them after blending. Unlike other primers out in the market, I preferred Porefessional because of the absence of the slippery silicone feel and Verikos Primer is actually very similar. It glides on your face smoothly but it wasn't slippery or greasy. It felt powdery upon application. For wear, this primer held up my makeup well throughout the day. I did the whole 10 hour test just to see if it did last for 10 hours and I'm happy to report that it did albeit there was a little fading of my powder bronzer and blush but my foundation stayed on. In comparison to Porefessional, both covered my large pores pretty well, so there goes the pore coverage claim.

I don't really get oily throughout the day since I have a normal to dry skin but I do get a little bit of oil on my T-zone in the long run but it doesn't really bother me. Some products like foundation or BB cream does make me produce more oil. I tried using this primer under the foundation and BB cream that makes me oily and it kept my face matte for a good number of hours than without a matte primer on. It doesn't completely keep my face matte for 10 hours but it was okay.

You can definitely see the difference in the photos. The mattifying effect can really be seen. It is also brightening and it evened out my skin tone.

The only downside I had with this particular primer is the scent. It contains prim rose oil that gives off a really strong rose scent. I'm okay with rose scents but I don't like it in makeup, I find the scent really strong and I was really uncomfortable every time I put this on my face.

Overall, this primer is a good one. I'll definitely keep using it until I'm out of it but it is something that I would repurchase just because the scent offends me - that is my personal take though. If you're someone who likes to keep your face matte and would like your makeup last longer throughout the day and is fond of scents, then this is probably something for you.

You can check this primer out at Verikos but beware, the site is in Korean so you would need to translate the page. I'm not sure if they offer international shipping but for those who are living in Korea you might want to check this out.
