A Subtle POP in a Smokey Eye

I have been engrossed in Pinterest lately. I have been posting my own makeup experiments and repinning makeup looks in my Get the Look board and I am so happy to find a lot of wonderful makeup inspirations. I came up with this "sandwich" smokey eye look with the bright color looking very subtle when the eyes are open but really pops out once you blink or close your eyes. Most of the looks I found of this particular smokey eye style are bold and "in your face" so I decided to make my version a little demure and discreet. It is a very neutral eye that is nice for going out or just a fun eye makeup if you're like me who is comfortable in smokey eyes for a day look.

Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation in Natural Beige - applied using Sigmax F80
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle in Medium - blend with the ring finger
NYX Eyeshadow in Brown - all the bronzers I have seem to give me a bit of "orange" looking warmth so the brown eyeshadow worked perfectly to sculpt my face - I used my Sigmax F84 to contour
NYX Rounge Cream Blush in Tickled - apply to the apples of the cheeks and blend out towards the hair line - applied using Sigmax F82
MAC MSF in Soft and Gentle - brushed on the bridge of the nose

Wet n Wild Brow Kit

MAC Painterly Paint Pot - placed all over the lid and used as base, blended out with a finger
Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow - using a fluffly blending brush place on the crease and blend out, this is used as a transition shade for the other shadows
Urban Decay Hustle Eyeshadow - put on the outer V, bringing it up to the crease. Also place on the inner third of the eye, leaving the center of the lid free of eyeshadow. Using the same blending brush as used earlier, blend out the harsh edges of the shadows recently placed. Using a smudge brush, bring the color to the bottom lash line and blend out.
Urban Decay Half Baked Eyeshadow - pat the color on the center of the lid and blend out all harsh lines.
Urban Decay Virgin Eyeshadow - highlight the brow bone
Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner - with an angled brush, line the upper lash line (you may wing it out if you want but I settled for a non-winged eye today), line also the upper and lower water line
Maybelline One by One Waterproof Mascara
Maybelline the Falsies Flared Waterproof Mascara - I find that layering these two mascara gives a really nice effect to the lashes

Wet n Wild Mega Last Lip Color in 903C Just Peachy
Revlon Lip Butter in Cherry Tart - lightly blend with the lipstick with your finger

Hope you like this look. Feel free to recreate it using the products that you have. Watch out for my Valentine's makeup looks to be posted in the next few days as well as product reviews. :)
