Products My Face is Loving (Routine)

Hello lovelies! I'm so sorry I've been MIA again for the past few months. believe me I missed blogging but it has been so hectic as of late. I'm gonna start writing blog posts again weekly or once every two weeks just to get back into it. If I do have time expect me to put up 2-3 posts in a week.

So my face has been quite sensitive and dry with the changing weather and I've tweaked my facial routine quite a bit and tried on some products but these are the ones that work best for me. For starters I have a normal-combination skin that leans to dry at times. I've had experiences with dry patches on my skin but with using these products for a few months now, my skin has become hydrated and quite normal.

In the mornings, I usually just wash my face with warm water as I have a pretty thorough routine in the evenings and I don't want to dry my skin more with using a light cleanser. I spritz on LUSH Breath of Fresh Air as a toner and then use a moisturizer right after I wash my face. If I wake up with drier face than usual, I use the Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream which works wonders in hydrating the skin, but most days I just use the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion. I let the moisturizer set for a minute or two before I put on any makeup if I will be going out that day.

My evening routine doesn't take a lot of time and a lot of products but I think I've been pretty thorough in cleaning my face and taking care of it that it has worked quite well.

In removing my makeup, I've been using the Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes. This is amazing in removing makeup especially if you use waterproof mascaras. I used to use cotton rounds and baby oil or extra virgin olive oil to remove my makeup (and I still do if I run out of the wipes) but I find that it leaves a lot of residue on my Clarisonic brush heads.

For facial cleansers, I use a number of different products depending on how much makeup I have on during the day. For a day which I use such heavy makeup, I use either the Biore Combinatioin Skin Balancing Cleanser or the Blemish Fighting Ice Cleanser (not in the photo since I've ran out of it when I took the picture). The Ice Cleanser is my fave among the two mainly because I like the cooling effect it has on my skin  when I use it. Both are really great cleansers paired with the Clarisonic Mia. I can't rave enough about the Mia. It is truly the best tool I've ever bought with my money. I swear by it and I still use it every night to cleanse my face (in-depth review on the link above).

For days where I use light makeup, I use the Clinique Liquid Facial Soap. It is mild and gentle on the skin. I also use this with the Mia just to thoroughly rid my face of the makeup no matter how light of a makeup I use that day.

Once a week, I give myself a nice facial massage using the Tony Moly Lemon Seed Massage Cream. I bought this one when I was in the Philippines for Php998 ($24). I use this after I cleanse my face and usually when I'm taking a hot shower so that the steam would help open up my pores. I just massage this on my face for a few minutes before washing it off with warm water. The citrus smell is so relaxing and your face becomes so soft and significantly moisturized after use. I don't know where you can get this product in the US but I'm sure you can find it online.

After all the cleansing is done I just apply the Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream on my face.

For my lips, as they have been dry and chapped too, and after having some allergic reaction to most of my fave lip balms (Burt's Bees and Carmex) I've resulted to using the Aquaphor Healing Ointment on my lips. On the photo above it's the little to-go tube but I've noticed that the one in the big jar is much thicker in consistency compared to the one in tube. I scraped a bit of the one in the big jar into a small container so I can bring it with me everywhere. Aquaphor really helped my lips a lot and I wouldn't have discovered it if my niece who has eczema hasn't been using this on her skin.

Well, this is the end of my return blog post. I hope you ladies find this interesting and useful. As always your comments and support on my blog is greatly appreciated. Happy Holidays everyone!

This is, so far, my biggest haul!!!

I've been doing some online shopping for the past two weeks and they arrived one after the other. Some of the things I've bought online were so random and not really worth mentioning... well okay.. they're stuff for my phone - a brushed metal and an ice blue skin for my Samsung Galaxy S3, as well as a 16gb microSD, an da few screen protectors.

Now, without further ado, here's the much awaited haul starting from the drugstore: RiteAid.

Instagram Me: Cool Blue Green

Going out for awhile and just go shopping doesn't mean you can't dress up right? :)

Wearing a semi-sheer chiffon top from Forever21 and jeans and black booties were a little bit plain for my liking so I added a pop of color into my eyes. Earrings were from Forever21 as well as the bracelet. Charmed watch is from Anne Klein.

Oh, and can you tell I was having a bad hair day? My hair is just all over the place.

Simple Everyday (Dolly) Makeup Look

Ever woke up late and need to hurry to school, to work or do errands? Here's a quick makeup fix that will make you look fresh and awake using only 3 products.

Of course since I don't have the perfect skin I used a little concealer to cover up my dark eye circles and a little BB Cream. For the eyes, I used the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Cottage Cheese all over my lid, adding a little extra on the inner corner of my eyes and under the brow bone. Blend it with your finger. With a clean finger, I placed NYX Nude Matte Eyeshadow in Haywire all over the lid blending it out just using my finger. Now with a sponge tip applicator, or in my case, a smudge brush, apply the same eyeshadow on the bottom lash line and wing it out. For the lips, I used Lioele Pop Cherry Tint for a nice pink gradient. You may put on a pair of awesome circle lens for a dolly look but otherwise you will look just fine and fresh without 'em.

Lioele Pop Cherry Tint

NYX Nude Matte Eyeshadow in Haywire - cool grayish brown
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Cottage Cheese - pearly white

Still got a little more time on your hands to spare? Line your eyes with a gel liner and add mascara to the lasher to give more strength and character to the eyes. A pink gloss would be perfect on top of the lip tint too.

Maybelline Eyestudio Gel Liner in Black
Maybelline Magnum Mascara
Stila Lip Glaze in Fantasy

And now you're good to go!

*Lioele Pop Cherry Tint, NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil and NYX Nude Matte Eyeshadow were sent by Kaylie of SassyandSmitten.

All Time Favorite Makeup

I think most of you would agree that as much as we love makeup and buying lots of them, we tend to use some items more frequently than others. While most beauty bloggers and beauty gurus do monthly favorites, having an adequately sized makeup collection and not being rich enough to buy tons of makeup as I would like, here's my prized and all-time favorite makeup. :) I guess you could say these are my holy grail makeup items that I would repurchase over and over again.

Maybelline Dream Mousse Foundation in Medium
MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural
Clinique Bronzer in Sunkissed
Wet n Wild Brow Kit (I only use the middle pan)
Sephora Waterproof Eyeliner in Black
Maybelline Master Precise Eyeliner
Maybelline Magnum Mascara
MAC Lipstick in Brave
Revlon Lipstick in Coralberry (which I'm almost running out of!)
Ever Bilena Lip & Cheek Tint (I only use it as a lip tint)
Burt's Bees Lip Balm

I have two other items not in the photo that I also consider as my HG/all time favorite:

Ever Bilena Mousse Concealer in Honey Beige and Medium Beige (I featured this on my Maybelline BB Cream Review - which is also quickly becoming a HG product)
MAC Painterly Paint Pot

I have reviews on some of the items so click on the links. Let me know if there is an item here without a review that you would want me to review. I would also love to know your all time favorites so leave them in the comment down below or leave your blog links. :)

Subtle Edgy Coral Nails

I've been loving simple nail arts lately and I'm still rocking summer hues even though summer is basically over. Well, who cares as long as I'm wearing it? :)

Here's a simple, subtle edgy nail art.

Coral nail lacquer from Love & Beauty, accented by a black with fine fuchsia glitter polish also from Love & Beauty. I used tape in order to get a really clean finish for the triangle and topped everything with Sally Hansen Hard as Nails top coat.

Instagram Me: Fashionable Sunday

Sunday's are always meant for church but that doesn't mean you can't be fashionably fab.

I've been meaning to wear this dress bright pink dress with bow designs on and I finally got to wear it. It's a nice casual dress that is church appropriate and fashionable too. Eyes were maintained neutral but I glammed everything up with accessories. Brushed out my unwashed curls from the day before and applied some argan oil and my hair looks perfect.

Instagram Me: Classic Modern

Saturday shopping with me, myself and I - no problems with that as I got a lot of compliments on my look that day. :)

Here's my modern twist to a classic piece: lace. I have a sequined collar sheer top on (I so love this top! I also have this featured on one of my Instagram Me post) and a high-low lace skirt, paired with a brown waist belt to define the waist and the Forever21 boots (which I know will be in more of my OOTD posts).

This would not be a classy look without a perfectly curled hair and red lip so I sported both.

Instagram Me: Cool Toned

I haven't touched my Naked2 palette for quite some time and since I was off to my part time work at mom's office I decided to use the palette again. With my eyes sporting cool neutral eyes, my lips pouted to the cool pink of Viva Glam Nicki.

As for my OOTD, I wore my blue high low top, a pair of skinny jeans and the brown boots I recently got from Forever21.
